First image is with the retrieval carabiner (silver) on the tag side of the rope. This is the easiest position to undo the girth hitch. Be aware that this will usually leave you holding the tag end and pulling the delta down. Don’t use this if there is a chance of the delta getting jammed on part of the tree
Second image you have the carabiner on the loop side. You can put it on the rope or in the loop. This one is good but not as good as the first one at loosening the rope. The advantage is that you end up with the delta in hand and pull the tag end over any limbs/crotches.
The carabiner directly to the delta has a tendency to get stuck. It’s surprisingly difficult to undo the girth hitch this way.
