Does anyone back up their Prusik?

I'm trying to decide if I need to back up my Prusik on my tether. I'm using a Beal Jammy on 10 mm Sterling HTP. I know it's strong enough, so I may just be paranoid. Has anyone backed up their Prusik with another friction hitch? Does it make it a pain to adjust?

I take the remaining tether and tie a loop with a figure 8 knot and attach it back in the caribiner to my bridge. If my prussik fails I'm still connected.

I do both of the above things. i run a 2nd prussik and i put my tether tied in a figure 8 back onto my biner. the 2nd prussik isn't a pain, it is a little bulky though.

I do the same thing, I actually spliced a small eye in the tail of my tether for this very reason.

What rope are you using for your tether? I've got HTP, which isn't spliceable, and Predator, which is known to be terrible to splice.

Another vote for tying the end of your tether to your harness, mine stays there the entire time, but I often climb w/ an XOP hand climber and not with a lineman belt.

Sampson predator, it was not horrible to splice but then I have nothing else to compare it to it was the 1st time I spliced ropes..

Was there a specific video or instruction set you followed?
