My Kong Duck squeaks when it’s cold. Not ideal in November. Anyone else have a squeaky duck?

About 30 right now

I can't say if it's approved or not. But mine kinda squeaked at some point. Shortly after It didn't bite the rope all the way and was sliding down the rope under load. Luckily it was at ground level. I put some scent free gun oil I had in it. Squeak stopped and held again. But then again I haven't really used it since then. Went to friction hitch.

I feel like it’s on the axle. I hope it doesn’t stop working. I’m like 17’ up right now.

Update: As I’m sitting in the tree. I remembered that I always have an extra ascender. I pulled out a Ropeman 1 but didn’t like the fit with the oval biner. I ended up switching out my LB Duck and ohhhh so quiet. Never unhooked and feeling safe.

Mine was squeaking the other day. I ended up figuring out it was the raised "button" on the back of that axel against the bark of the tree. It would only do it if I was sitting or getting something out of my pack.

The squeak on mine happens when I open the jaw to slide up or down on the rope.
