Dump or roll pouches on your saddle?

@tailgunner
Absolutely gorgeous scenery!!! :cool: ....and a lot of leg work. o_O

The average elevation around here is 855 feet. LOL
Just south of me, about an hour is the highest point in Ohio, at 1549 feet. :) A real leg burner. hehehe
honestly the land is so amazing that it is a distraction.you can tell by how many times i pulled my phone out to take a pic.

Yea I’ve been fighting getting rid of my dump pouches. I have one that fits tight and doesn’t move. Fits my lineman’s belt perfectly. That’s one gets the go ahead.

I cut down a Fanny pack to use as a dump pouch while climbing and I’m not sure I’m a huge fan of it. Dump pouches just work for nice easy setups. Everything has its place. Goes back in that place and it’s nice have somewhere to put stuff during the hunt. Thought I get tired of the weight pulling my saddle down during the walk in.

It comes off, goes back on, comes back off.

I started out with the water bottle pouch & standard Amazon dump pouches, and have switched around over the last couple years.. My linesman is always in a figure 8 clipped to a loop, but the pull down rope,gear hanger,pruner,saw, rappel rope, Madrock & carabiner have been moved around.

I tried the OS pack, but it just rode too far back for my liking. I have a TX5 KYSS pouch on the way, curious to see how it works.

I bought my Overwatch saddle used with linemans and tether/Ropeman 1, with two Tethrd mesh dump pouches. Over the past few years, I've become a big EWO fan and soon ordered a pair of their saddlecloth dump pouches. They are silent, roomy and hold everything I care to bring along for a typical saddle hunt. Despite a little more bulk, they have proven to be very useful.

However in my search for the 'perfect' carry system, I am going to try a BWMG platform pack with shoulder straps and RF pouch....all on my Christmas list. Over the weekend, I have been looking at the Tethrd roll pouch to attach to the platform pack to hold some basic necessities such as a field dressing kit, knife, headlamp, flashlight, etc, plus roll put to hold a spare vest for layering. Looking forward to having all those componets and determining if it is as useful as anticipated.
