I see a lot of folks trying to buy these and I am sure many of those folks have the materials at home.

I found the easiest way to measure for length was the knee for the knaider and an inch or 2 below the waist for the swaider.

I used some old hawk helium straps and some shock cord off an old backpack. It maybe took me 15-20 minutes to throw these together.
It is really just a few water knots and some tubular webbing for a castration bands.

After practicing a fair amount, I am planning to swap the button out in the shock cord for a small carabiner.

I also tested the clip part of the hawk helium strap as the hook for the knaider and it worked. If I didn't have the hook in the pictures, I would definitely cut the locking part of the clip off and use it as a knaider hook.

I have also found that putting a zip tie over the tubular webbing for the castration band works best for me.

Does this mean you use the zip tie and the tubular webbing to cinch these to your boots? I have tried each separately but not in conjunction.

If so, how tight did you pull the zip tie around the tubular webbing?

That is correct. An inch of Tubular webbing with a zip tie around it. I pulled it pretty tight but Probably could have pulled it another 2-3 clicks.
I used it yesterday while scouting and setting up cameras. I like it way more.

Cool. So, does it still slide up and down to be adjustable? I assume so. Might have to trim my tubular webbing as it is 5-6".

Yes. Play with the zip tie tightness until you get what you like.

I like mine pretty firm. They do not slide at all after I push it down on my boot. I always have a few zip ties in the pack so if one breaks, it's no big deal

Looks Like you have two different Double J Hooks? Whats the first one used for? I have been looking for the right size Double J Hook. Double Step has 'em but gotta pay $8 shipping for a $1.50 item LOL...It also seems like they cornered the market on the "coated" ones.
