Of course they’ve built some versatility into their bags. You can draw in the bottom using the straps with triglides and manage the side compression straps a bit. But Steve really pushes using the optimized bag size for the specific loadout and I tend to agree it’s more ideal for keeping center of mass in the right spot.
I’m sure I could fill out a 3600 with bibs and coat though, but I also prefer the zipper arrangement and organization of the 2200. 3600. I also hate the deer colored stretch panel on the camo bag.
I’m picky too, I know.
