Fid for Cranford rope?

Here's the end result of a resplice. Lost a little total length, but I'd rather have the ability to do small trees. Might call cranford and see where they get their rope from. You could go with a longer rope and be able to climb the full range of trees.

Solid! Thanks for the insight!

Here’s how I use them. 4 Cranfords/etrier combos get me 30’. My entire system for hunting and climbing weighs 18 lbs for everything but now.

What aider and how do you attach it to the steps?

I use CMI 4 and 3 step etriers currently but thinking about going to 5 and hopefully only use 3 step/etrier combos to get to 30’ combined with the etrier I attach to the post of my PP. I am also considering having some custom 4 step etriers made with longer steps.

Could you show an up close pic? Really liking this method

I can't believe I am going to buy another climbing method...lol
I've been holding back on the carbon rods...now these.
By the start of the season I'll have more methods to climb a tree than my wife has shoes...

You can only climb one tree at a time @sdonx...:D

Eventually you'll find the one, develop a system, or just give up and go shoot some deer. I'm still in the stage where everything sucks differently too, and I'll be playing with aiders as soon as it's not 10 below with 2 ft of snowcover.

Just seeing if you could post an up close pic of the step with your aider attached. Thanks

Anyone ever had the hook side stretch out on them? This happened to me on a test climb. I think maybe I didn't have the loop all the way in (blue in pic) and instead it got caught on the end (red in pic). Chalking this one up to inexperience, but I figured I'd ask here.

Presently evaluating the Cranfords in comparison to WE Stepps w/ kn/sw, which I am proficient in. Tried them with a moveable 5 step aider. Don't think I like that. Thinking to go with a moveable single step aider and seeing how I like that.

I have several Cranford rope steps and I have had two come apart on the end that is permanently attached. I took a pic and they sent me another. I quit using them because I could not get them to cinch tight enough.
