Filming your scouting/ approach to stand

Hey guys,

Limited knowledge when it comes to filming. I want to get into filming my scouting/approaches to sets…breaking it them down as I film. Something similar would be what Dan Infalt does in his videos.

My question is what would be the best setup for this? A GoPro? Cell-phone? I assume guys are using using a selfie stick that rotates to catch both angles (camera facing towards you while talking and in front showing what you see).

Any tips/guidance would be greatly appreciated!

*** Tree stand filing setups are relatively straightforward so interested in an efficient setup for scouting/breaking things down out of the stand/saddle.
