Took the web out Saturday along with my buck steps. Sat from noon till dark and saw an 8 pt. I was just using my top buck step as a platform so I definatly need to rig up a platform. The straps on the buck steps are kind of a pain and are noisy if you aren't careful. The web was great! Might need to experiment with my bridge length, the rope and prusic around the tree didnt slip at all.

Great! It will most likely take a handful of sits for you to get a system worked out that you like. I'm still always tweaking and experimenting! :D

Try using a shorter bridge ( mine is 24") and hooking it to the bottom loops were you would normally hook the Lineman's strap. It will open it up more for the shot and also be easier to hook and unhook the Lineman's belt as you go around branches. Like red squirrel said it's always an experiment.

Thanks for the tips, my bridge is currently 39". I felt it was way to long

My bridge is 24" also, 12" on each side. That is with the aero hunter.

Yep. That's exactly how I set mine up the handful of times I hunted from a Web. But, I also use the same nylon runner for my bridge with the New Tribe Evolution. Works much better than rope, IMHO. No bulky knots and/or excess line to deal with, and it slides better when pivoting for the shot.

Thanks guys. Very cool. I'll have to look into one of those.

On the New Tribe, you have to remove at least one of the paws to put the runner on (install it just like a luggage lanyard tag)

Remove the paws and follow these instructions:

Looks like if you didn't want to remove both paws you could attach it to one and use a carabiner to attach to the other.

I actually use a carabiner on both ends so it's completely removable. But, it seems most people prefer a fixed bridge so I posted this picture of how to make it fixed.

*note: it seems that Casey at New Tribe does not recommend these climbing runners. In one of his posts on another thread he recommended climbing rope.

Ok, good to know. I could make a custom web bridge if I wanted like I did with my tree strap.
