What if your tether breaks then your back up breaks? Do we run 3 or 4 backups? I wasn't trying to compare to seat belts but thats proven science. Let me give you this example...a bunch of out of state do gooders saw families riding in the back of a pick up and didnt care for it so they lobbied legislation and its now illegal. There is no recorded case of a fatality or injury in our record keeping history....i think everyones ideas about the sharp edges are great and to each there own. I was simply saying i dont sit and worry about a chain of events like this, id feel like i was in a final destination movie

Well, a climbing rated rope (that you inspect and replace as needed) breaking is way more rare than slipping and banging your head on something literally 1 inch from the back of your head :) And the chain of events to consider is pretty short. Slip, bang, ow my brain stem!

Might depend upon where you hunt. I take at least one good slip a year because these WV hills and mud and all......made me buy new boots last year because my cheap Danners had no tread.

...but that's way off topic.

I've seen folks pack the one sticks on bags with the points of the standoffs towards their backs, it worries me. All I can do is say something. I won't lobby against it, lol.

I wasn't trying to get your dander up. As far as I'm concerned you're free to do as you please. I only brought it up because, not having considered it myself before learning the hard way, I thought that maybe I could help save you the same learning curve. If you're not worried about it then I'm not.

Agree that cigarettes have been a net positive for the environment.

Maybe 12 years ago I was steelhead fishing along a fairly slick shale river… on a slight slope my feet slipped out in front of me and I went down backwards… I had a hand drying towel rolled up at the bottom my little pack, which ended up right at my lower back and the fall slammed me across it. It felt like I was real close to breaking my back. Did not anticipate that. Glad I didn’t have a pack of sticks on.

wow...i'm surprised a towel was that bad on you.

last year, i forgot what i knew as a kid....on steep and slick hills sit on your butt and inch your way down....well, the plan was to go down a steep hill kind of half sliding and then grab a tree i saw....well, i missed the tree and was heading teeth first to a rock outcropping...in a split second, i rotated and landed on my saddle hunting pack while tossing my bow into a bush...it's the only ninja level thing i've done in a decade....i hit my shin so hard i'm surprised i didn't break my leg....i'm glad i didn't have anything hard on my pack....but granted i was an idiot for trying that maneuver at all (especially in my 40s)!

Received my sticks today. Put each one on a tree at ground level. No wobble that I can tell in any of the steps. I am going to replace the dyneema/amsteel that came with them. It seems a bit cheap for my liking. Overall, I have no complaints. Pairing them with a RDA double step moveable aider.

Join the club, everyone! For the low cost of only $350 twice per year, you too can become an official Tethrd product tester! Don’t let this opportunity pass you by! Act now and get yourself up in a tree with Tethrd gear before the engineering and design processes are complete. Don’t miss out on the adventure!

I used mine the last 2 days. They’re no beast stick, but the weight difference is pretty dramatic… they don’t bite the tree quite as good as the beast, but but good enough to be very solid. Overall, they’re replacing my beast sticks as my go to.

Sold all my beast sticks and kept these…lol. I thought they bit the tree very well. I can undo the rope from the dynalock tab and the stick stays on the tree.

Same here, ive decided to go with them based on the weight over my beast. I had no issues with biting the tree , the rope attachment is new to me so i was getting more sag than i would with buckles but i love the attachment method.. like rutman said these will now be my go to stick

This beats the hell out of lining up the pins… they’re an ounce a piece. They’re not plastic like the original ones. These aren’t breaking.

Does it come with a life insurance policy? Sorry, I am a China basher at heart.

$45 plus shipping for 3 plastic clips? Nah, I don’t find the pins that difficult. This does look like a good system, but not $45 better.

They’re pricey… I will say the pins on the one sticks line up easier than the Skeletor’s.

It’s when you take them apart is when you can hit metal on metal, which at dark 30 in the morning is not good. These clips eliminate that from happening.

Put a little Vaseline on the pins. They work much better.
