Getting comfortable ..

Thanks guys. I am just using these cheap harbor freight knee pads. Maybe I need someone more heavy duty. Won’t let me post a pic of them from phone

That would be the first thing I would spend any money on to fix the problem now that you have a ring of steps on the way. Good luck.

anyone run into this comfort/ moving issue with your set up? And if so how did you fix it? TIA

Truthfully, I didn't even realize how much I was moving in a saddle until I hunted out of my climber again. It's not even comparable. I can sit in my LW sit and climb and not move at all. I can't sit in a saddle and not move for very long. I can sit there for 10 or so minutes before moving to apply a different pressure. I sat yesterday for 3 or so hours(probably my average sit time) and I bet i readjusted 100 + times.

I tried a hybrid and although it was as comfortable as it can get, it did have its woes for me.

The biggest thing for me is I LOVE how compact all my saddle stuff is! But I do believe i'm about to go back to my sit and climb. I also love carrying in a single stick and being able to climb as high as I would like!

Hey guys. Looking for some input.

I probably have close to 10 sits in my Cruzr xc saddle. I am running 3 beast sticks with aiders and cheap hawk platform. Love how light and packable the system is (kuiu venture 2300). Coming from a lone wolf assault hand climber, so I am liking how I no longer looking for a “tree that works”.

Here’s been my issue: I find myself moving a lot. I’m not sure if I just can’t get comfortable , or if it’s just because it’s so easy to move. I run my tether about chin height. And there is some serious pressure on my knees when I am “sitting”. I am using just some harbor freight knee pads, but knee pressure is a lot (even for a couple hour sit). “Leaning” on a platform is blah - you are so far away from the tree I will undoubtly get picked.

I ordered the Cranford saddle scaffold. Going to get ring of steps a shot, should arrive in the mail tomorrow. I’m hoping that helps.

So I started to JRB last year. My anchor generally ends up several feet over my head. I use to run a chin high tether pre JRB. I discovered this high anchor is way more comfortable. I previously, pre JRB, tried ros. Bullman steps, bad, rotated on strap. Heavy ratchet. Hurt my feet. Went back to predator. Then JRB. So different I tried ros again with monkey steps and over center buckle strap. I put my feet on steps at 9 and 3 O clock. I sit with the tree trunk between my legs. I use the steps more like stirrups. I don't stand on them. At show time I do use them to push off to position. So you could try a anchor as high as you can reach. But you won't have stirrups.IMG_20221022_105346 resize.jpgIMG_20221022_105346 resize.jpg
