Man i love to go in blind
Went in tonight with my friend to some public and was very disappointed because we ran into a few other hunters and thought it was going to just be a bad night.
well man i was wrong.
Jason kicked up a great buck and he tried to adjust to his location and see if he would come back.
meanwhile i was scouting a ditch edge and ran into 2 more hunters.
well i slmost said screw it im outta her but i looked at spartan forge and seen an area i was gonna give a lasteffort checkout spot check.
well I ended up in a kind of pinch point loaded with rubs.
had 4 does come by me and one was a piebald.
Then i looked up and a shooter came out but he was just out of range
Watched him hang with some does for 45 minutes.
maybe tomorrow

Yes, I've found some great spots when I was forced to adjust on the fly.

Sounds amazing! I need to learn to keep looking for sign instead of just setting up to set up.
I did same thing for years then my good friend
@Jhand started reminding me. A scouting trip diesnt always end up as a hunt.
if the sign is not yhere the deer are probably not there.
Of course the sign one finds to hunt needs to be in the right areas that are super thick and some sort of advantage for the deer especially the bucks.
keep on walking til that hit sign is in or around super thick areas and you should see your encounters soar

Gettem bud. If you dont see hot sign in a super thick area keep on moving til you do.
walk thos transitions and the good sign will show itself.
I cant say it enough to just make sure its super thick though
If its not thick it’s probably night time sign.

Where I cognitively struggle with this is that I feel like if I go into those thick areas I'm going to be making too much noise. I love being in the open woods with trees:sob:

Dont be aggressive and you will have more encounters. Even if you just get on the edges.

I am scouting a new piece of public and it is driving me nuts.
Yes I have to get on the edges because you cannot hunt in this.

Problem is it's everywhere, LOL.
I scouted this back in March. Decided to hunt here because if it looks thick in March, it is.
Scouting a couple days this week, comming back next week to hunt for 10 days.
