Alot of the time I get on the old book I learn that I in fact don't really know much of anything about killing deer out of a saddle. That 99% of the other saddle hunters have been hanging out of a tree since Fred Bear was knee high.
Oh an one more thing platforms are the devil an are ruining the sport . I myself was certain that I would never own or even bother trying a platform but I could care less if others did an didn't lose sleep over other using them. I finally bought one last season an never used it till saddlepalooza 2020. I decided to give it a shot an went out an first time using the platform I shot 2 pigs!! Ring of steps never did that hunting out of them

Haha, it's like people log into Fbook only when they are angry and ready to start something. The ring of steps and platform argument feels a lot like the compound vs trad argument... boring and played out at this point. I thought the point of saddle hunting was to kill animals, not about basking in the purity of swinging around a tree on steps. Do what you want!

Congrats again on the first and only saddle kill at any Saddlepalooza, and a double at that :)

About the time you really start to figure out how to kill deer is about the time you figure out the freakin gear doesnt matter at all. It's the indian, not the bow.

Where the skys are so blue!
Facebook is humanity in 60 seconds. If you can look past the immense, heaping pile of garbage, you can see the engagement photos, new babies, "prayers for," etc. It's wild because it's just people.

And you never know if people are going to beat and rob you or give you the last bottle of water they have.

The only thing about ring of steps an platform debate I am not a fan of is some people telling new users that one or the other is the only way to hunt out of a saddle.

I agree. I think that is why I prefer Instagram you see alot more people posting things that make them happy not too many rants on there.

It seems 75% of the Facebook saddle pages is just marketing at this point.

The rest is stuff for sale and questions from new saddle guys. Granted it’s usually the same question though over and over again.

With that being said stirring the pot on there is a guilty pleasure of mine.

An awesome guy on Facebook gave me his ROS and a couple old lineman belts for the cost of shipping to Canada! Fb isn’t all garbage, just mostly.

Y’all would be wise to leave all social media behind. Except for saddle hunter of course. There’s only room for one addiction.

My wife maintains a FB presence for family and friends; I never look at the stuff, I still like a direct phone call or a letter the best. I do text with family though. Still has a personal element to it that isn't trying to much for the "audience." Is it real or is it MEMOREX? Anybody remember that???? So true so true????
