Green light headlamp

I don't like the switch or that you have to cycle through the modes... it it's bright and focuses well (but you see the lines from the led when in spot focus).

I spotted a deer in my backyard from 100 yards last night with it. Great for tracking/hiking

Just picked up this flashlight from academy. Seems like it's going to be a good light for the walk in and out. The white light throws a pretty wide beam which can be focused more if needed. However it doesn't focus real tight like some lights ( I'd prefer a little tighter). The light also has green leds which reach out to about 20 yards and red that shines out to about 10yards. Great for doing things at the bottom of the tree and mid climb. Super lite and padded well. It also tilts to provide optimum angle while walking to keep your head up. Like most Browning products I'm happy with it.

I just got the black diamond ion that was posted here earlier. What a disappointment. Red is so dim it's worthless - couldn't use it to walk in or out. touch operation is very inconsistent and frustrating. White light is nice but this has become a back up light already.

Skunks don’t seem to see dim red lights either.
I almost chased one down struggling to get away from me in the knee high grass the other morning. Got within 5-10 feet of its backside before my brain jumped out of its morning hike trance and demanded my feet to backup.

Man imagine getting your sitka and all your other gear sprayed. super suck

it should be adequate for climbing your tree at least so its not a total loss. Its the only time I use a cap light anyways and red light is really nice at that point for not letting everything know where you are

If you have a home depot near ya, try this one if ya don't mind a handheld for the walk

the red light is adequate for watching where you step. White light when ya need it

I use this headlamp when I need light.

I don’t know if they make one with red or green lenses instead of the white/yellow, but this light is bright as all get out. I love all things that run on 18650 batteries (I’d die for a good trail cam that uses them...).

The recent Down South podcast with “The Hunting Public” guys they talked about how they haven’t noticed a difference with deer spooking now that they transitioned to white light instead of red/green.

knowing you spooked something generally relies on you getting close to it. I probably spook more in the dark with a red light....but I would've done the same with no light at all. Nothing you can do about that.

What I hope to avoid is alerting the deer 100 yards away to steer clear. Does it matter? I don't know...but same as scent control, I do it cause it might matter
