So as I was climbing a tree this morning (can't wait for my 3 step etrier to come in), I noticed how loud my linemans belt that came with the GW is. Not only was it loud, but my tether belt was making all kinds of noise as well. So my question is, what kind of system can I build for my GW? I know for that other systems, everyone is custom making the bridge and tree strap, using a ropeman. I am real intrigued by this setup. Would it work with the GW? Has anyone modified theirs?

There are a several threads on this subject if you do a search of the forum. I'll try to add links tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I personally use a rope tether, ropeman1 ascender, and 24" climbing sling for the attachment. Another rope with a ropeman ascender for the linemans belt. Great system. Quiet and effective.

Thanks for replying. I have read through the threads relating to the subject. Unless I have missed one, I didn't see it relating to the GW. I was curious if it has been done and is acceptable. If so, I'll be ordering the gear to make it happen.

Any mod to tree stand, saddle, etc. is at your own risk and not endorsed by the manufacturer nor TMA. That being said, the equipment and principles are practiced by climbers and arborists on a daily basis. Build what works for you and if possible build some redundancy in the safety.

I understand the liability would be my responsibility. My curiosity is for Guido's Web users and if they have used a bridge system with ropeman. I want to know how the GW feels when in the tree. I appreciate your feedback and help.

The feel is the same, but it's quieter. Also feels a little bit more open since you don't have big black straps everywhere.

Good deal. That's what I was hoping to hear. I like the feeling now. I didn't want the bridge to make me feel too constrained. I'm a wider build. Sometimes a normal seat can be a tight.

I use the bridge set up with the rope. I was using the prussic but switch to the ropeman 1 and its really nice. Also now use a rope with a ropeman 1 for my linemen belt.

This is where I am headed too. Just looking for some 11mm static climbing rope. For now I'm using the extra safety ropes from the various treestands I've bought over the years. Easy to set up and adjust. Luckily I got this advice before I started hunting. I never had to mess with the prussics at all. But I can definitely see the advantages of the ropeman. just a one handed tug and you have a shorter tether, Lbelt or bridge.

Yes overall the set up is great and really like the ropeman. I feel like it's the best setup I have tried so far and it works great with the web.
