I love these short sticks but hate the standard hawk strap. Just done a rope mod on this one step so far. I put a half hitch around the amsteel like you would on a helium stick but it gets so tight it's hard to undo. I'm looking for a some more opinions on how this is done now. It locks in tight and hasn't slipped with my 220lbs bouncing on it yet. 20180829_140103.jpeg

Try bringing tag end of rope up from bottom of stick and then into button and around spliced end of amsteel. It might release better when unloading.
