Another vote for the black diamond. Mines got the feature that ensures it can’t easily get turned on in my bag. It also has a USB rechargeable battery. I carry I super small battery bank that can charge my phone or my headlamp multiple times.

There’s a couple headlamps I’ve come to really like. My go to is the Olight Perun 2. It’s kind of bulky on the head but it is awesome when you need far reaching wide light and lasts forever. I tried a Black Diamond headlamp a couple years ago and didn’t even leave the bass pro parking lot before I took it back. I’ve since picked up the black diamond storm just a few weeks ago and love the thing. In hind sight I might have been doing something wrong the first time hitting the touch area on the side that makes it turn on full blast regardless of the dim mode you’re in. It’s not the brightest one out there but overall a good do-all light. So far so good and I recommend it.

What small battery bank are you using, I need a new one?

I use an anker power slim 1000. It’s smaller than my phone and can charge my phone about 4X. It can also charge my headlamp, laptop or any usb devices. They have number of different models with all kinds of features, but this one suits my needs perfectly.

I think I'm gonna give 1 of the wrap around led strip headlamps a go. My buddy has 1 he always talking highly of
Ok....so I listened to my BFF and got me a night buddy led strip headband thing. Granted it hasn't been deer season since I got it but I used it almost daily since I've got it. This things pretty sweet. The red is enough to navigate in the woods which I'm real happy about. All the other red lights I've had before i couldn't see well enough to walk in the woods in the dark but this 1 I can confidently walk thru thick stuff. The white flood on low is what I've used 80% of the time. The wide field of light/illumination is great. The white flood on high is real bright and I rarely use it. The spot light is nice for pin point accuracy....I normally wait till the family is sleeping before I go out and work on my truck and I gotta say for doing mechanicing in the dark this light dominates any other headlamp I've used. I never put a timer on it but i can be pretty confident in saying I ran it for 4-5 hours straight on low and battery life is more than enough.I'm fixing to order another 1 cause I like it so much. The hands free on/off is really nice when ur hands are all oily or covered in turkey blood.Screenshot_20240512-084133~2.pngScreenshot_20240512-084137~2.png

Those knock off have red option?

This strip style "packs up" smaller than the traditional headlamp also which is nice. Rolls up and fits in a pocket with little bulge. I keep my headlamp in a grenade pouch on my hunting vest. A traditional style headlamp fits in nicely but with little extra room....I could fit 2 of these strip style in the same pouch

I have a few of the cheap LED strip-type headlamps and they work great for deer hunting.
Also walking out of the woods while on the low setting, it's like walking in daylight - almost.

Absolutely love the hands-free solution.

For Turkey season and stealthier deer season requirements, I use a small and cheap cylindrical handheld:
knife and light combo - $10

When I use this small hand-held, I hold it as shown and open my lower fingers as needed to provide the minimum amount of illumination needed. Without a glove, there is a red glow in my hand.

I use an old hard case for sunglasses to keep the headlamp from accidentally coming on. There's room in there for an extra pair of reader glasses and the headlamp.
