Took the plunge and decided after a lot of research and consideration to invest in a saddle setup to try this season.
I did, I have a setup on order. I had no interest in trying to build my own custom rig starting out. I wanted a package that would safely keep me in a tree for parts of the season. I don't pack in a long way, I may walk 30 minutes to my farthest place on any of the properties I hunt here in IL or back home in WV. I just want to try it and see if I think its for me, and then if I feel like the investment was worth it, I may look at getting some custom items and tinkering maybe. I just really wanted a little more mobility and ease of use than the typical 20lb hang on offers. I film for others at times, and my wife and I film some of our own hunts, and have heard several say they felt it was easier to manipulate a camera and gear out of a saddle as well. Looking forward to the season and trying it all out!Welcome from Michigan! Have you made a decision/purchase or still looking?
Thank you! You as well!! I have a small lease and another small permission farm I hunt here in Illinois. My family has a small farm back in WV we go back to every year to hunt with the family and friends!Welcome, I am also located in Southern Illinois. I have been bowhunting whitetail on the Shawnee National Forest since 1985 but this year will the first from a Treehopper Recon sling. Hope you have a very safe and successful season.
Thank You!! We both appreciate that a lot!! You as well!!!Welcome from Georgia!!!!
Be prepared to fall in love with hunting all over again! Last year was my first season saddle hunting and it was a unbridled child like experience. I did spend a couple weeks at ground level getting familiar with all the equipment and safety aspects before getting any distance from ground level. I wish you and your wife a safe and great hunting season.
