Help me up my Mobile hunting.

I was probably being unfair. Being made in the US the $225 price probably isn’t unreasonably. When I last looked it was $320, and I immediately lost interest. Also made in the US:
I don’t personally need/want a lawn chair for hunting and don’t want that bulk.

Clarifying question. Are you looking to carry something in addition to your current stand?
Well technically, the thread is about an addition to my current stand. Something to always be with me.

But I’ll take all the advice I can get! I need a pac seat anyways haha just looking for an option/opinion of a possible addition to my current setup though

I've been gravitating to ground hunting over the past several years in parallel to learning to use a tree saddle and 2TC. For me, the idea is to have the best system that I can use to put me within bow shot of a whitetail with the minimum acceptable weight, bulk, and ease of use.

I got a Packseat this summer and I have been using it some this season. I really like it. The cost is too much for some folks to accept, and I get that, but as Nutterbuster said, you are paying for a USA made product made on a cottage industry scale. I justify it to myself like this. 1) I wanted it, lol. 2) If we look at it as both a tree stand and a pack frame and then look at purchasing any good tree stand and any decent pack frame and compare the price side by side, then that puts it in perspective (and you'd have to carry a tree stand and a pack frame together). And 3) it is nice to carry, easy to set up, and if I fall out of it, I will be embarrassed, not dead.

In my 2TC pack, I have started carrying a small Torges seat. It is designed to nest in the back of the pack and has an extra-long rope on it. It will fit on tiny trees and huge trees. It takes seconds to set up and is pretty comfortable. Cost was maybe $10.00. I use it when I get to a spot where I am close to a feed tree, and I feel that any sort of elevated hunt will likely let the deer see me climb. It's easy to just slip right up, pop out that little seat and set up and go undetected. There is no freestanding mode with the Torges seat, unlike the Packseat, but it is tiny and takes up very little room.

Tell me more about this Torges seat...I need one.

They are a very simple tree seat designed by a guy named Dean Torges. There are a lot of variations since they are homemade, but most consist of a 1/2 piece of plywood cut to shape with a couple of holes for rope and a 6 or 8 foot piece of poly rope with or without knots tied in it. You can make one for about $10.00 if you have any woodworking skills whatsoever. They are pretty comfortable. I'll try to find the drawings I made.

No way I would pack anything extra for that. I have tethered into my saddle, or say on my platform at ground level at times. Or just stand still for an hour or two if I can get tucked in properly. I'm not a huge ground hunter though. Really, really prefer to be in a tree if at all possible.

Here is the small one I made for my 2TC pack. As you can see it fits a lot of different sized trees.

I'd throw in a folding, 3 legged stool like this one: https://www.amazon.com/GCI-Outdoor-...ocphy=1012983&hvtargid=pla-307322448948&psc=1

I carried one for years. still break it out occasionally. You can definitely tether in at ground level or use your .5 for a seat. But, what you'll find is that being forced to sit against a tree is horrible. Being able to set up right here is part of what makes ground hunting so great. Tree or no tree, you can hunt. And what you see is what you get. You never get up in a tree in thick canopy and think, "Well, crap. I can't see."

Nms... is so ultra light he could add 10 cool duhickies of conveiniance and cumfort to his gear and still carry les than any one elses system.but that is just the ultra light advantage.

You should have seen all the stuff I carried when I first started hunting. For instance, I carried a 3 cell maglite which probably weighed 2 pounds, lol and a huge case fixed blade that would have put Jim Bowie to shame. I was using a 28 0r 30 pound Summit climber. I'd get home and wonder why I was so tired and sore.

I once thought I got a bargain on a steel summit. Dude I wouldn't give that thing to my enemy now.
I did that last night. Told myself it can’t really be that bad. It’s a good deal.

Probably gonna get left on my brother’s property as a communal stand. Won’t complain about the bulk of my JX3 or any of my hang ons ha.
