Hickory Creek Mini In-Line Vertical Crossbow

Well. It's not a mini, but I'm super happy with my original I got from @kyler1945 . Just finished tapping it for a scope rail and getting it mounted up. Psyched, and couldn't be happier with the support from Jerry in helping get it tuned and ready. Only other thing I will do after sighting it in is drill and tap it so I can add the trigger guard they now come with.
I have not. Mine only came with two on the string as shown. It is pretty quiet with little vibration. Less than my other 3 crossbows.
I put monkey tails on my strings, limb saver split limb dampers on the limbs, and added 100gr to the original arrow weight.
The bow sounds fairly muted now to how I received it, and a much less twangy unnatural sound at that.

It’s much quieter than any other crossbow I’ve shot. But it also shoots about 50-100 FPS less too. That’s a big reason.
Another thing to keep in mind is that crossbows are probably not Quite as loud as we make them out to be - your face is literally next to the bow when you shoot, versus 2-3 feet away with a compound. It makes a big difference.
And last, there’s a lot of reason to suspect deer don’t react to the noise of a bow when shot at. It’s likely they’re reacting to hearing that noise, which gets their attention, then seeing/hearing an arrow hurtling at them, and that gets the duck and run instinct to kick in.

Yea this is what keeps bothering me a little bit, but I recorded myself shooting it a few feet away and it doesnt really pick up the sound that well. I may just roll with it. @Nutterbuster when you turned it up to 150# did you move the D-loop?
I hear none of the musical vibration of the string like my other xbows (Scorpyd Deathstalker, Scorpyd Velocity 165 and Barnett Recruit Compound). The stock string dampeners must work. I also have the limb bolts backed out for easier cocking
So guys idk what is going on but one minute I'm shooting great and the next its F****d up. Any help?? I had it sighted in at 30 yards, shot at 20 and it was on went to 30 and it was just a hair off from the shakes. I tried again at 30 and its shooting about 1' to 1' 6" low. I even turned my sight to go up and it wont turn anymore. Nothing is loose, or bent. Idk what is going on. Btw I'm aiming at the "O" in blackout.
Same thing has happened to me. I gave up on it for a bit, but I need to get back to fixing, zeroing, and practicing. If anyone has a solution to the bolts loosening from shooting I'm all ears. It concerns me that I think it is shooting fine but could go out in the woods and not realize it has shifted. It's my first crossbow. Maybe this is normal given all the pent up power being released.
Also my first crossbow, I think its gonna be an awesome deer killer. I love how simple it is once in the tree. I just have to keep an eye out on the pieces and bolts, make sure before and after I shoot it that everything is tightened down and in place.
Blue lock tight should work on the bolts that are loosening. Are the whisker biscuit screws tight? Scope mount screws?
With mine (now currently Nutter’s) we got best accuracy by using a normal nut up front snugged up with a socket. Of course that also eliminated the ability to easily break it down.
It wasn’t all over the place though when using the hand nut, it just didn’t group as tight over 50yds.
