High Temps

I usually take off around the time from the 5th to the 8th. High temps seem to follow me every year. I need to plan my Vaca days well in advance so when I'm off I'm hunting no matter the temps. Yes deer movement can be slower on warm days but it only takes one hot doe to change everything. I've had 3 day spans of 70s in November and didn't see anything the first 2 days then on day 3 it was like a bomb went off. 2 hot doe were getting chased and pushed around by 5 different bucks. We only have so many November's in our lifetime. Got to make the best of it.
No man i get it. Your right ive spent close to 30 November chasing bucks that are chasing does.
ive scoutex around 30 miles in the last 4 days so i was pretty beat and needed a day off
i just took a day off today to

By next Thursday I'll be shot out and ready for a rest myself lol good luck out there!

Another example of" just getting out there" was a few years ago I had a dark to dark sit with 0 deer after being run down from a flu. I was mentally and physically just drained. I slept in the next mourning and my son who was 7 at the time came in my bedroom at 6:30am and woke me up. He said "dad u should be hunting it's your lucky day its November 7th." I drug my sick butt out of bed got in the tree and killed an 8pt at 10:30.

Thats how it usually happens lol

I’m in NH and have had warm days most of the season.
I just wrapped 4 days off to try and catch some pre rut. No dice
Sat and Sunday were very cold in the morning, but the temps would swing almost 40 degrees and it would be over 60 . Monday and Tuesday were hot
Pretty uneventful - morning sits and proven areas didn’t get much action . I did get busted by a few deer that came in opposite of where I planned.
Also managed to jump a few bucks and deer everyday by scouting edges until I caught up to something. They all were solo
Big Deer are hitting scrapes at night. Doe and spikes in early morning
Next weekend will be in the 70’s it really makes it difficult to commit to a spot.
Thinking of heading to the beach, but it can change in one day.

Friday is pretty much the only day I can hunt in the next few weeks, so I'll be out regardless of temp. One of the "nice" things about having somewhat limited hunting opportunities is I only check the weather to figure out what clothes to wear, though I do still get scared off by heavy rain.

Also I'm not sure what the right answer is but for each of these high temp posts, I feel like I see an equal number of "deer still gotta eat, I shot mine at noon on a 80!degree day etc" posts so I dunno. Similar to the October lull, lots of opinions. If you do end up going out I look forward to hearing about it

I took a half day today. Going to stop by a couple of properties I've been eyeing and maybe stop by the bow shop.

Then it's to a tree.

Agree 100%. But i admit when it warms up.
i get lazy and i kind of lose the drive.

I only get one day a week to hunt so you best believe no matter the weather I am in the woods on that day. Deer still move in warmer weather, and the rut doesn't stop just cause temps spike. A horned up buck still wants to get that doe. 69 degrees for a high today. Deer are chasing here in northern Wisconsin and its supposed to be 55 here on Sunday.

I just hunt mornings when it is this warm. I'm a night owl though so after 3 days of waking up at 4 am, I'll just collapse in exhaustion and hunt the afternoon one day so that I can catch up on sleep.

Lol

I have had very good luck over the years late Oct-early Nov during warm periods on morning hunts if raining or just finished up raining. Monday I tagged a 230 lb 13 point at 11 AM after a good soaking, it was 65 degrees on public land no less. He was browsing in thick cover. I saw 3 does earlier but in opposite direction.
PS never believe the weatherman when he says scattered showers, the sky opened up putting on stick #2 with rain jacket buried in my pack.
