Homemade Amsteel Bridge

I keep seeing Amsteel bridges being homemade with a long splice on one end that becomes tied like a prusik with multiple wraps instead of a regular girth hitch or a direct splice to the bridge loop. I think Cruzr sells these as well. What’s the advantage/purpose of the multiple wraps/long splice versus whether a girth hitch, a tighter splice directly on the loop, or a spliced loop with a carabiner?

It allows the bridge to cinch tight on bridge loops. You can adjust the point it pulls on the bridge loops. Basically does the same thing as the comfort channels on the phantom but in another way.
