How are you getting deer in your truck when solo?

I use a cam strap attacked to a tie down spot in the bed and girth hitched around neck and another on the other side around the backside. I lift one side of the deer and pull the slack out of the strap and do the same with the other side. Repeating till the deer is on the tailgate and slide it in.

I guess I have been lucky.

I can usually find a berm or a place where they have pushed up dirt grading the road. I back up to the berm, drop the tailgate and pull them up into the truck bed.

Any way you can.
There is no really right or wrong way.
pole, cart, buggy, bike, trailer, wheel barrel, whatever it takes.
now i live in super flat swampy, marsh type areas. Then inland the green briars can grow into like impenetrable walls. Or the mud is waist deep so any wheel type carts are out, jet sleds are ok but they suck on dry ground.
at least the one i had did.
So with that said i use a long aluminum pole like a pool skimmer pole if i need to drag long distances
The leverage it gives you makes it pretty easy to haul a deer out.
thats my go to way but like i said whatever works best for the individual.
really depends on the terrain your hunting in.
But, as i always say what works for one may not work for another and vice versa.
Truck , car, or whatever make it work.
front seat back seat, trunk, roof , wherever you can flop it lmao .

I drag them the old fashioned way, no sled, no cart, just a rope or grabbing them by the antlers. Lift them
In the bed any way I can get them there. No pulleys, etc. I just wrestle them into the truck. I’m usually alone, no one to call and at 56 it’s a pride thing if I’m being honest. Probably helps that I’m still active in the gym lifting heavy and do heavy sandbag (dead weight, shifting loads) workouts often. Use it or lose it.

Call the Game Warden to come check if the deer is legal.
When he gets there and says, "Oh yeah this is definitely legal", you say "Great! Since you are here, would you mind grabbing one end?", lol.

Jokes aside, when feasible, I quarter and pack. Dragging deer and hauling their weight into and out of trucks is tough.

I’m with ya on the old school way! But I’m 28 BUT I’m severely out of shape and gun season is usually my exercise for the year doing 5-10 miles a day in the back country

Plastic toboggan and lawnmower ramps. Keeps the carcass cleaner than just dragging on the hair. And I once threw out my back wrestling a doe into the back of my pickup, missed a few days of hunting after that.

Once upon a time I had a 2x6 cut to fit the pockets in the bed in front of the wheel wells, and I had a big eye bolt in the middle of it I could use as a pully if I was really gassed out by the time I got the deer to the truck. Worked out pretty well, but I'm not sure where I put that thing. Probably into another project...

I carry a 1x8x6' board and my Jet sled in my truck during the season. Piece of cake loading any deer I shoot.

Basically same for me.

I like having a jet sled or otter sled because it’s deep walled and it will hold the blood and what not of the deer and washes out easily. It’s also great to keep your gear hunting gear tidy in the back of the truck and if I have to use my truck for something else throughout deer season, all of my gear is in the jet sled and I just take that out, put it in my hunting shed and my truck is ready for other jobs.

I use the Viking Solutions Deer Hoist...... works fantastic. Also comes in very handy when loading heavy items I purchase from Home Depot or other stores. Takes up very little space in the bed of my truck, I leave it in the truck all the time in case I need it.
