How did you hear about saddlehunter??

I got curious about hunting from a tree saddle and pondered it for several years, at least 5 years ago, probably more. No idea where I originally heard of it. Not one to jump right into something expensive without thorough internet research I found my way here via the google algorithms is my best guess.

As I followed along lurking for maybe a year or so, two developments really impacted me and sent me over the edge into buying saddle equipment. First was platforms I could relate to as a public land treestand hunter. I ain't touching bolts with a ten foot pole and rings of strap on steps look like a massive PIA. Maybe I'll get there someday, but for a guy that is coming from 20 years hunting out of a treestand, no thanks, I needed that soft transition if you will. Then I followed along as the Kestrel took shape and it's sleek simple design I could not resist.

Like others I learned about the tree saddle from John And Chris Eberhart’s books. I started searching for a used trophyline and stumbled upon the site. Best thing that has ever happened to my hunting.

Ok, so a LOT of new people have shown up on the boards recently and I figured it would be a good idea to see how everyone heard about the forum.

I’ll start it out...
I heard about Saddlehunter over on the hunting beast. I didn’t take much convincing, because I climbed trees with a chainsaw some in high school/college and always felt very comfortable in the tree.

I wad hurt at work in October of 2016 and was searching the internet to see what was out there about saddlehunting and came across the web site . I was laid up for a longtime and had nothing to do and I saddlehunted for a longtime and wanted to see if there was any saddlehunters out there. I know a lot of hunters but none hunt out of a saddles and it was nice to see all the saddle guys on here. If I didn't find this site I might not have purchased my Kestrel and I would be limited to my treesuit and Guido's web. Great bunch of guys on here and it's great how everyone helps each other out. So glad I joined .

Having been away from hunting since I moved away from home after high school I had recently moved back to the east coast(a year ago) and wanted to get into bow hunting.

I was fortunate to have a co-worker that was an avid bow hunter, but he was pushing me towards a viper summit, I just couldn't do it, I just knew there was a better way! Somehow I stumbled upon saddlehunter.com and haven't looked back!

If anything I feel like I've had an extremely successful first season with a bow and in a saddle(4 deer including a small 8pt) and I can honestly say that I owe all of that success to the folks here at SH! I feel like I've come such a long way this year and I've asked a lot of dumb questions but everyone was more than happy to help!

Hopefully I can give back to this amazing community!

That's actually an incredible first season. Most people spend at least one season trying to figure out the numerous variables that make it all click.

Thats a great first season. The first time I used my treesuit I shot two does within 20 minutes of each other. They never knew I was there. What a great way to hunt.

3 years ago I found saddle hunter on the web. I conversed with Red on line a few times after I joined and was finally set to pull the trigger on a saddle and had a fall. Far a couple of years I hunted from the ground. I had success but I truly missed being in the tree.

I told my wife the only way I was getting back in a tree was to use the safest system. I got back involved with SAddle Hunter.

It is a very informative group of like minded people. Everyone on here shares info and ideas in a fun and explorative way. Red does not put up with any hostility towards a fellow member. The community helps one another. Just a great group of people

I started out trying to find a Trophyline saddle shortly after they went out of business. I bid on a few on ebay but never was able to connect with one. I eventually stumbled across the Aero Evo and bought one. Included in the packaging was a reference to Saddlehunter.com.

Based on my previous experiences of other hunting forums I had been on I was somewhat reluctant to get involved so I lurked around for quite a while but was learning a ton the whole time. It quickly became obvious that this group of hunters are great bunch of guys and are very helpful and willing to share so openly so I knew I had to sign up.

I came across saddle hunter about a year and a half ago, but I can't remember how I found out about it.

DIY Sportman video pointed me to SH. I’ve been addicted ever since. Great bunch here and have learned so many techniques.

I was looking for a saddle had met a guy in Tallahassee at a WMA and he had a TL Leather a set of LW Sticks and an LW Assassin platform. I looked at it and had to have one. Got home and started looking online for saddlehunting and 1000 Hunter Saddles came up and Saddlehunter.com was next to it. I lurked for quite awhile before joining and still didn’t post a lot. But especially after Saddlepalooza I have realized how good the people are on this site. The sites getting a lot bigger and I can’t keep up with all the new people and threads. So for now I’ll just practice. Oh ya G2 Spring Gobbler started today not to rub it in or anything.

I picked up one of @John Eberhart books and was intrigued by the saddle hunting. I reached out to john to find a TL at the time and he turned me to this site. Its been all uphill since as far as hunting downhill though on the wallet lol!!!

My brother brought it up to me. I’ve climbed for a living in pile driving leads & bridges. Heights and harnesses have never bothered me. So, I figured for a few hundred dollars - I should be able to hunt like this well into my 70s.

I have been a Pittsburgh Pile Driver for over thirty years. Got hurt two years ago was off work for a year and now on lie duty. Be careful out there. Saddlehunting is the way to go for sure.

I found it looking for info on stick mods. Now I am a saddle hunter started last year with the sit drag all modded up thanks to the tons of information on here. Now I just received my new kestrel. This site is great just very very very very expensive if you try all the different stuff but it needs to tested out because you guys said so. Now I just need to figure out who to send the bills to. I know some will be going to g2. Thanks guys for a great site.
