Newbie here. How high could a guy get with two sticks with 2 step aiders on them? I have no need to hunt at 20 feet where I hunt. I need to get at about 15ft max.

Without an aided, 4 sticks.

I was thinking about running a 2 step aider on 2 sticks to get me that high.

What is the distance of your stick step to step?
What is the distance of your aider, attachment point to bottom step?

My sticks are full size LWs are ~30” my two step aider is a little about 48”

So one stick with aider from bottom aider step to top stick step is ~78” or 6.5 ft. If I set the first stick so that the aider is 2ft or 24” off the ground, and the second such that the aider is 2’ or 24” from the top of my first stick I could get 2’+6.5’+2’+6.5’=17’

If you aren’t about 6’ tall your side length may be shorter and you likely won’t be able to set your stick high enough. Just adjust the lengths and see what you can get. If you have a platform add another 24” if you step up onto it. I usually use my platform for a little more height when needed.

If I have enough rope I’ll try this out today in between thunderstorms and see if I can put my money where my mouth is.

I dont have anything right now. I was trying not to spend money on 4 sticks if I don't need 4 sticks to get to the height I want. I am exploring options right now. I'm 6'3" and athletic.

I know there is some quality control issues with the new shorter helium’s, but the price is right and you get 4 sticks. Not sure what your price range is, but that would be hard to beat.

If you are a relatively tall and somewhat athletic you can get to 15 feet with two sticks and two aiders. I'm 53, in decent shape, and use 3 sticks with aiders to get ~ 17 feet. I highly recommend getting a Wire Rope Aider, they are much easier to use, especially in the dark.

All other Aider products are dangerous when descending, difficult to find the loop with you foot.

Sounds like 2 sticks w/ 2 step aider is plenty. You could always one stick a little higher if it meant getting to the right spot...... Those EWO ultralights w/the attached aiders are pretty sweet, not sure what your budget is....

Two EWO 20 inch sticks with two step DanO 20 inch aiders will get a 5 foot 10inch sixty two years old guy 15 feet. Or 17 feet with a platform

But I one stick now

I showed a friend how to one stick and rappel yesterday. I was at 15 feet in a couple of minutes and down in less time. It took him much longer to do the same thing, first time in a saddle too, but he will get it down pat with practice. He comment was it was easier than he thought it was going to be
