i use a hss tree strap with my saddle. The prusik knot on the strap is tied with an overhand knot from the manufacturer. Do you guys feel it’s safe to use that knot on the prusik?

I used the HSS tree strap for a couple years before I upgraded. I don't think there's anything to worry about.

Did you upgrade just because of wear on the strap?
No. I upgraded because I have a disease that constantly makes me buy new and "better" gear. It's called Ihatemewalletitus.

Been using one for 4+ years, no issues. 6'3,235lbs. No need to worry, just enjoy.
