Alright after years of saddle hunting without using a pack I’m thinking about using one. I normally just have sticks ready to go on a tree and walk in and climb up and I’m ready to go. What are you guys using and why is it good and what don’t you like about your packs. I’m hunting a large property in Western Michigan where I can have Pre-hung spots but I am looking at different options for this next year. I’ve purchased some WE steps and love them. All opinions are welcome.

Thanks

Again i am new to saddle hunting. That said, im still approaching this setup like i did with my climber, minimal tasks and gear. Current setup is 7 WE steps, and a AH kite. My pack is a MIL-TEC assualt pack. https://www.cheaperthandirt.net/pro...SQKvmTr23GZGNIWky-Fjb6Imq9q89liUaAnZiEALw_wcB
With this bag, i can easily put 6 steps in the main pouch(rear most), then still have my other pouches for the little other great i take, range finder, binos, tether etc... its a very tight and slim pack. Has external molle webbing, and a hip belt. I wish i had a top belt to put around a tree and hang, i may make something that is permanent prior to this season...

I'm still new to saddle hunting as well. Last year I purchased the badlands superday. I really enjoy the pack. It's well made and lifetime warranty was a big plus. Theres alot of room and great pockets. Keep an eye on camofire.com. badlands packs pop up quite a bit.

The cons of the superday is that its kinda big IMO when up in the tree. For saddle hunting I've learned that less is more. You gotta put your pack somewhere while hunting, the less bulk up near your body, the better.

I really enjoy my pack but if it's a quick 3-4 hour hunt I would probably recommend going with something small that has pockets and straps.

Forgot to include this picture....that's all the gear I stuff in there for late season.

Thanks for the replies. I was considering the superday or the diablo dos along with Tenzing packs. I want something that will hold my bow as I want my hands free. The photo really helps.

Thanks again

No problem, the predator AND stepps fit inside the pack as well so you could put your bow on the back if you wanted. I like the options of this pack.

I haven't tried this one yet but sent a message to WE Stepp owner because I saw it in one of his photos on Instagram and loved how it was in the front of your chest and you could wear it while you hunt. Definitely on the higher end of prices, but looks extremely useful for saddle hunters.

I just picked up a Badlands Superday at the Costco in Tulsa for $99 on mark down. I wasn't in the market for one at the moment but saw it in the store and after a quick search that seemed like a decent price. May be worth a look if you have a Costco nearby.
