So, climbed a tree today and I spy a flash of white roughly 50 yds away. Huh, I thought to myself that looks like a deer belly. I get all settled in and take a peep through the binos and sure enough there lay a dead deer.

Upon closer inspection check out the neck….. looks like a cable restraint? Wonder if it was accidentally snared by a coyote trapper. Most places require a deer stop or some kind of break away device on the cable restraints. Of course some people will brake the law and not use them. It also looks like the deer has saw chips all over it???
It was dead when I saw it. I don’t know what was all over it. It did kind of look like wood chips. I didn’t notice the cable or whatever around its neck while I was out there. I didn’t spend too much time with it. It wasn’t on my property, I told the owner and sent him pictures. It was unusual for sure.
