I just ordered a sit-drag and need info. On how to best DIY into Saddle.

I had an upholstery sew mine up for me.
This is what I did.

I added molle loops on both sides to hold pouches,
Put 3 small loops on the bottom for gear ties to hold sticks, and put a waist belt on the inside that was only sewn up until the sit drag separated from my hips so it didn’t add to hip pinch.

Welcome from SE Michigan! X2 on checking out @g2outdoors videos. Before he came out with the Mantis he was the guru of SitDrag mods and we all think he owns stock in SitDrag! Also, @DaveT1963 has some videos of his modded SitDrag. I used ideas from both. I added a waist belt and two rows of molle webbing with a tubular bridge. It should be used with a rock climbing harness - picked up cheap one for around $40. Once you've done that and if you have access to a heavy duty sewing machine, check out the DIY Kestrel Clone thread by @ckossuth - I was able to make a usable clone from his thread.
Perfect, thanks a million

Thanks to everyone for the great welcoming and all the information. This is the BEST community I could have been lucky enough to become a part of.
THANKS.

Thanks. I just got my sit drag and took it and hung from a tree it is a lot more comfortable than I expected. Now to figure out what mods I need and get em done. There are limitless possibilities.

It is highly recommended that you use a rock climbing harness in conjunction with your sitdrag.

Alpine Bod is a popular choice for a low cost harness but I have a $25ish strap one that does the trick.

Can you post a pick ?

O.K. Not finished yet but I would like a little input,:
I started to put Molle webbing on the saddle but I remembered I had this 2” military belt that is made for adding stuff already and with the adjustable clip on clip off 1” webbing I got my saddle to fit where it felt good on me.
I am going to order 2 dump pouches, 1/4 “ amsteel for the bridge and 2 lineman ring attachments for the belt. That should take care of everything that I can think of for now.
Here are the pics before and after. Remember still got to add items from above.

Just got turned on to saddle hunting from a you tube video and can’t wait to try it.
Like most everyone else I don’t have a lot of money that’s why i want to DIY a sit drag into a saddle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are those carabiners rated for climbing?

yes they are the ones that came with the sit drag but they are non locking. when I take it out I will be using the locking biners that I have.

The Sitdrag and all of the components that come with it are for ground use. So I would double check before I said they are climb rated.

I have carabiners from my life lines that I am going to use when I try it out more than a foot off the ground. But that is a good point you brought up, I probably would not have even thought about. The only reason I was not going to use them was they are not locking, but now I have a better reason to use them as gear hooks.
Good looking out.

It’s what we do here that’s why it’s nice to have the forum as a sound board.

Stay safe Boxboss!
