If you could change anything about the kestrel what would it be?

Yet it took us so long to develop, we had the Kestrel about 90% done since 2014, it wasn’t until we came up with the adjuster strap that we felt we had a product worth releasing.
I LIKE seeing threads like this, it helps us develop/improve. I will say that almost everything that has been listed here has been discussed, designed or tested. So keep letting us know what you are looking for!

Thanks,

Boudreaux,

Aero Hntr will always have my business just because they are innovative and take the time to listen. Not too mention making making a great product, promoting, safety, and teaching. A great American Co.

Agree with previous suggestions to cut weight, and make molle loops more generous.

Also a better keeper for excess waist belt.

Love my kestrel. Agree with a lot mentioned above. One thing I would add is that I would prefer the linemans loop openings to be oriented horizontally instead of vertically so I can clip in my biner from the side instead of the top. And the linemans loops need to be stiff enough to open the carabiner gate to clip in.

1. Have the leg straps go straight across your leg like a RC harness instead of up to your waist. It's way more comfortable, and if you slide straight down you don't wreck your manhood as bad.
2. Use aluminum rock climbing tri-glide buckles, they take 5 seconds. Then there are 3 metal pieces dangling instead of 6.

The main thing I would like to see is a mesh saddle. As mentioned above its gets very hot down south early bow season and on into Oct/Nov. I've been practicing from mine and even in the 70ish degrees we've had it just holds in the heat and gets stifling. I love my kestrel and I'll keep and hunt out of it til a mesh style is released. I wouldn't mind seeing some molle loops on the sides just because I have a small pouch I usually keep my cell phone and it would be convenient.

I agree with loosening the molle loops. I have an old trophyline accessories pouch that just won't go through the loops.

I definitely like having leg straps, but I'm considering modding them to the old trophyline style straps that you just step into. Don't like the buckles. Not a quality issue, just don't care for that feature. The belt buckle is great.

I've already replaced the bridge with a fixed amsteel. That would be a cool option.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned a fleece option...

I agree a mesh Kestrel would be awesome. I hunted a few 90 degree days last year and got a serious case of swamp butt. LOL

So far I have to agree with some of the other posts. Some way to make a more ventilated saddle for us South East hunters, and putting a touch more material on the bottom to let it cup just a bit more. Other than that I’m over the moon with my Kestrel. Love it and can’t wait to hunt out of it.

I've hunted in mine as early as September and as late as June on the Gulf Coast. I've seen chickens lay fried eggs in the summer time, but I've never got hot in a saddle. You guys wearing latex boxers?

Lol! No but I can see the potential for some serious swamp a##. From the thickness of the material and the fact its compressed. To you. Now i have only been in mid 70’s temps so far and i was fine. Ill report when the temps start soaring.

Maybe just the molle loops, beside that it's perfect! Such a quality feel.

I’m not saying I disliked the adjustment straps i’m saying I wish it cupped your bottom a little better meaning it was taller by 3-4 inches. Other than that fantastic product

Would definitely like to see mesh version and make lineman’s loops out further to make easier to see and hook in to

Love mine it’s size 2 sold my size1. I am much more comfortable with the 2 but was happy with the 1. Season starts Aug. 1st where I live and if it’s 90 a cold front just went through. I’m very happy with mine but would buy another if it were mesh that would have to make it cooler.
