I'm a camo junkie... to the point I should probably sell some of it but to answer your question, Subalpine.

Sitting still.

I've got a pile of camo, but it's pretty much all clearance bin Mossy Oak or Realtree or milsurp. Or plaid.

But if I were going to go all-in on a camo pattern, it would probably be either Multicam or ASAT.

Something I wonder about… do more open breakup patterns work well when you’re holding still, but possibly show up better when moving, like to draw. When making small movements wonder if darker muted patterns show less movement.

Those Predator patterns look great.

This year my last hunt was on the ground in the snow in ASAT… had a buck come to 6’ away before staring me right in the eyes then jumping away a bit, of course the deer I wanted was trailing him by about 25 yards.

i like the looks of the sitka stuff particularly subalpine, but i dont think it matters as much to the deer as it does to me, so ive been trying to care less/ likely buying solids for the next few things (i keep eyein the kuiu yukon rain gear, it woudl be more functional in brown than camo as i'd wear it around people more too).

the camo i wear the most is my walmart/ wrangler pants, i think they call it jungle camo?

I’ve used kuiu vias for well over a decade. Back when that was there only option. It works for me anyway.

For a true all around, I'm looking at turkeys because for deer it doesn't matter at all imo. Cover still comes first, but camo does matter a little more for turkey, particularly what is on your shoulders and head. Pants, eh, not really.

As much as I love my asat,I think it's a touch too brown once green up gets greening. It's fine if you have good cover, except when you don't.

My eye likes the classic mossy oak bottomland with some green, but pick one and roll with it. Go with macro camo with broad contrast, the 00's era micro detail stuff is basically a dark solid. These days there are quite a few good ones to choose from, but if you turkey hunt and want to go truly versatile, definitely lean in that direction.

I also think any texture helps on the ground, probably more so than any specific pattern or color itself, but wearing those generally annoys me and I reserve it for specific circumstances so it's out of the versatile discussion on my end.

Anything not photorealistic but larger blobs with light and dark mixed in, mostly light.

That's what I think is most effective (ASAT, predator, kuiu vias). Having said that, almost everything I own is Realtree Edge because that's the most common camo of Midwayusa's store brand (which I'm a big fan of).
