Awesome. Nice bucks!Since you asked, here's my past 2 public land bucks. Both while 1 sticking/platform climbing.

Are you using just the platform and tether or are you running an aider on the platform?I ditched the stick and started climbing with just my platform, saved even more weight. It’s all situational, there are few times that having multiple sticks would probably be easier on me but I don’t feel like I’ve been hindered at all. It’s not perfect but it works for me.

I think the one scenario I am struggling to make one stick work in my mind is with wet trees. Just a lot more body contact with the tree to get your clothes wet.
This is the one scenario i question as well being new to the one stick game....anybody with experience that can chime in?
It's just a means to an end. Kinda absurd to suggest that it can't be done quietly or effectively, it just takes some practice to get good at it.
I'm actually revisiting it after getting into SRT and rappelling. One stick makes a lot more sense when you rappel down. I love SRT climbing but just can't make SRT work as I'm usually some form of run and gun, or you could alternatively say, I 100% lack the master planner personality trait to make a bunch of presets.

Same as @DB4x4 , I generally only touch the tree with my right shin and my left hand. The rubber boot takes the brunt of the moisture on the shin and I leave my gloves off climbing if it's wet. Water dripping off the tether while sitting is more of an annoyance than climbing. This is the one scenario i question as well being new to the one stick game....anybody with experience that can chime in?
1 sticking on wet trees sucks. I hate it. You could always bring a change of gloves to help. This is the one scenario i question as well being new to the one stick game....anybody with experience that can chime in?

Wait…wait! You’re worried about getting your clothes wet. Really? Yikes!
I only ever really touch the tree with my hands and my knees. The knee pads keep my knees from getting wet. I almost always have a spare pair of gloves with me, so that I can climb with one pair and switch out to the dry pair at hunting height.

It'll be frozen on the tree by thenno....worried about being soaking wet in a tree when its 30 degrees or less...
It'll be frozen on the tree by then
It's really not an issue, just try to minimize contact with the tree. When you're hanging from a tether, a toe or one hand will keep ya away enough to hang a stick.
That's okay, I'm in northern Michigan and I don't deal well with the heat (i.e. >60F).im in south louisiana...we dont do well with the cold lol

Put the bottle down man or come here and give me a swig.
wouldn't of happened without this climbing method in this case.
One of my favorite things about this site is that this stuff just doesn't happen. Nobody here has anything to prove to anybody - most folks who don't like the one stick method wouldn't be following this thread. It's really that easy. I hope you continue to find success and enjoyment in the methods you choose!I see a lot of talkie talkie but nothing to show for it most of the time. Sorry
A few years ago I started hunting on the ground again as my primary method. (I just found it to be a lot more fun and it makes me a better hunter)
Just as you would imagine, I would find myself in situations where I didn't have a treestand but I wanted to get in a tree. That's when I picked up saddle hunting. I can throw it on and hunt in it or carry it in a pack until I'm ready to use it - GREAT. After trying every climbing method I could get my hands on, I finally threw an aider on one of my sticks and it clicked, one stick is the answer for me. This year I'll go into the woods with my saddle and The B.O.B. so I can climb if I want to, and I'll add a platform if I plan to be in a tree all day. It's quick, light, quiet, simple, and it's right for me.
Side note....
