Is this a trap?

So I am at the start of a transition from treestand hunting to saddle hunting. I have all of you to thank for that!

But to go with that I have been reading up on products and methods and such. Most nights are spent looking on the saddle forum and talking to my wife about all the different equipment I need and how I'd utilize it.

So earlier today, my wife was getting kinda fed up as I was talking to her about how I'd like to get the Tethrd predator platform, when she says," Honey, I don't care, do whatever you want."

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this kind of "permission"? Is this a legitimate "green light" to get the gear I so desire? Or could this be a trap?

What do I do here fellas??

It is absolutely a trap. But with that said you better buy it quick before she takes away her fake permission. You can't play dumb after that.

Let's be real, you knew it was a trap before you posted this. LOL. With that said, I'm in agreement with everyone else. Order away and ask for forgiveness later!

So are you saying you weren’t TRYING to annoy her with hunting and gear talk? The very thing you mentioned are the tactics I employ. Research, talk, shop, talk, pretend to agree when she says “thats pretty expensive for that” or “don’t you already have like 2 or 3 of them”, talk, talk and gratuitously poke and prod until she says that exact phrase.......“Honey, I don’t care, do whatever you want”. Works like a charm!

This is similar for me. I go overkill researching purchases and casually talking about them and how I think they are a little too pricey. It's not long and my wife is tired of hearing about it and says "just buy it already"

I say run with it. I go about buying stuff in two different ways. Number one: I'll buy it and then tell her, on the premise that it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Number two: is I will keep on and on about something until she very much like your wife gets fed up and tells me to just get it if I want it. I think you're golden!

Oh it’s not a trap but a submission.... she’s sick of hearing it, so well done there! buy it and you will reap the rewards of the predator BUT you will eventually feel the wrath of the Mrs. Not sure how long your married but I laugh in the face of that wrath nowadays!

Sounds like most of us use similar tactics, she definitely submitted to your constant obsession with some sweet new gear. Buy it if you can afford it, don’t hesitate!

Seems there is a general agreement that some form of permission has been granted. I have to wait for my next paycheck to come in, so game plan is to not bring it up anymore till after I buy it. Don't want her to know I'm taking the "permission" seriously.

Definitely buy it. If you need permission to buy things. Just Go ahead and buy everything you need while you are at it. No sense wasting time going through that process again. Worry about the fight later. You can always hang in you saddle later with a black eye while shooting your bow with a smile on your face, saying to yourself after every shot, “ IT WAS SOOOO WORTH IT!”
