Ordered an tethered setup but I can't wait 8-10 weeks to get it. So why not buy a backup? Look for a saddle that will be equivalent to the mantis XL.

Would you like to learn how to make a fleece saddle and pair it with a $40 rock climbing harness while you play the ole tethered waiting game? Makes for a cheap back up.

I'm game to learn anything.

I use a Mammit Ophir 3 slide harness I bought on backcountry for $40 with some climbing webbing i used to make linemans loops if the harness you buy doesnt have them. About $10 strip of camo fleece I had cut at walmart. I just measured enough to cover from my lower back to behind my knees with 2-3 layers after being folded. You will then Need bridge material. I used 1/4” amsteel with spliced loops.

Dave Toms has a great video showing how to loop amsteel on fleece.

The fleece is super comfortable. I had the matis xl set up and sold it all for this due to comfort. It just didnt work for my body size.

Thanks for the input gentlemen. I went with a L mantis to try out.

I have an XL Mantis and u can check it out if ur ever in the Orlando area or if I’m near wherever u are

I’m smaller than u (5’11” 215lbs & waist 36-38”) and the L Mantis got pretty snug if I was sitting instead of leaning

I switched to an XL & it’s more comfortable
