I set up a tree yesterday, it was the last of the buck beds I found over the winter. I saved it for last because I wasn't really sure how to set up on it. There wasn't too much wind blowing and I didn't know if anybody would be using it but I figured I would sneak in and see if anything busted out to gain some more confidence in the beast system. Well wouldn't you know it, I popped up over this little knob and all of a sudden crash crash and a buck with a nice set of antlers goes bouncing down the mountain. It took me 3 hours but I got a tree set up 125 yards from there. I'm hooked!

G2, it's basically slipping in real close to known buck beds and setting up as silent as possible, and hunting wind directions that allow the deer to think they have all their bases covered.

I believe Dan Infalt is the one that made it more popular.

Interesting. I just thought that was a normal part of hunting. who knew.

Matty is spot on. Go to the thehuntingbeast.com. Is that a normal part of hunting? Yeah kinda, but these guys take it to the next level. They are slipping in to around 50 yards of a spot where they know a big buck is bedded based off of scouting and setting up without spooking him. Most people are not doing that, or anything close to that.

Its not something you want to do on your private property for the most part. Its based off of hang and hunt tactics and serious scouting. So, you hunt a spot, either have an encopunter and reevaluate or kill. If nothing then move on. It takes a long time to accumulate enough spots for it to start firing. Most cases people never push a bedding area. You could be like me and bump your target bucks. I've done it 4 times this year. The deer was bedded in a different spot but not the exact bed I had idetified while spring scouting but in the general area. It's tough, but I've never had as many buck encounters than I've had since hunting this way in such a shourt period in time. But basically 2-4 times more scouting than hunting as far as a time commitment, but if you hunt public its the way to go just have to but in the hard work.
