Just Got My 2022/2023 Budgeted Home Heating Oil Plan

Look up the masonry heater association. They should have a ton of links on there. I work with Maine wood heat if I build one, they supply the core and other fancy parts and they made theirs repairable, which is nice for a $15,000.00 item.

done some research on there already. Thanks

If it's any consolation, my electric runs 225-250/mo Jun-Sept for A/C but will drop to about half by Jan/Feb.

Theres no space in this small house to burn wood or I would for sure. This is a manufactured home sitting on a foundation but no basement. I dont mind cutting wood either. My neighbor has about 4 full cords stacked at the moment. Everyone should get ahead of this as much as they need to based on situation at hand. Gonna be a lot of people screaming they cant buy their kids Christmas this year and wondering how it happened. People are so oblivious to this situation, the clock is ticking and theyre gonna unfortunately get an extremely rude awakening.
was it that bad 3 years ago?

Got off the oil this year. House is poorly insulated, HVAC and oil burner were inefficient. Not to mention oil tank was about a millimeter from springing a leak. Primary heat source is wood stove, A/C was running windows units.

Went ahead and had a ductless heat pump installed. By no means perfect (nothing is), but my electric bill in summer is cheaper that running 3 window units (and way quieter) and I've barely touched my wood pile this year. Electric bill so far this early is barely noticing an increase and it won't once I really start burning.
