JX3 arrived!

I use three muddy pro Sticks with aider‘s and I also one stick time.

John showed me this little device so this is what I use to carry sticks. You cinch it around both ends of the sticks and then all you do is hook it around the fork on top of the stand. They sit beautifully

I'm assuming that comes from the T-handle w/adjustable cord kit.

Why wouldn’t you strap the sticks horizontal using the already attached leg straps? Standard size Beast sticks fit perfectly between the standoffs. Almost like they were made for the JX3. Been carrying mine that way and it works perfect. Obviously won’t work as well with mini’s.

I'm just curious if you have tried to pack the beast sticks between the seat and the back rest when it is folded up? If you have what didn't you like about that way versus the above mentioned way.

I have tried that but it just seemed easier laying them on the outside and quickly connecting the leg straps to the top attachment. Holds the sticks very securely. I figured they would slide around but they don’t. When I put them in the fold they shifted around a bit.

Are you using the attachment rod to hold the sticks together?

I have one but haven’t been using it. With Stealth Strips on my sticks they stack together pretty snug and stay stacked only coming apart with a little bit of effort. Seems to work well. Otherwise the rod is probably a good idea.

Plus, the way Beast sticks stack, they fill up the space you may wish to have available for things like bibs and coat and what not, when not packed on the outside.

Sticks like LWCG minis and Shikar are better suited to packing in the fold.

Thanks for the replies. I bought the mini beast sticks last year and a buddy has been using my standard beast sticks. Now that I have the hybrid I'm going to have to try and get the standards back. That's going to be fun. Lol.

Good to know. I was just trying to figure out how to pack my sticks and clothes. Thanks to You and Dewey I have a plan. I'm pretty excited for some all day sits in the hybrid.

I was interested to see if Timber Ninja 24" sticks fit around the JX3 frame similar to Beast sticks. But I got 20" sticks...ugh

3 LWCG sticks are really quite decent in the fold. The standoffs fit well enough on the ground-seat brackets to brace them solidly, and plenty of room on top for gear and junk.

I realize I may be diverging in from another place in the forums. Looks like I have many variations to try out post season. Work with my WE steps. Work with my LWCG minis with cable aiders. work with my bolts. I’m thinking of taking the Bullman Pioneer step plunge but it don’t like the black straps.

Work in progress but here is what I used today: a strap around the sticks to hold them in one corner of the jx3. Then the legs straps do the rest. I didn’t like the Heliums horizontal since they stuck out so much. Vertical would be fine, though have to maneuver around the knob. This seems like an easier and low profile approach. I used ghooks on 1 inch webbing cause I had it handy but it could be done differently or better.

Two seasons in a JX3, and OH what comfort.
Whale tale and shoulder straps allow for 100's of minute adjustments to get that perfect living room recliner sit.
CAUTION: ALWAYS put your shoulder straps back on before standing up or coming down.

Nice. Ive had one for 2 seasons and have yet to try it! I’m not a stick guy….yet. How are you climbing with it

I use sticks, and then I secure a ring of steps to compliment the T on my top step to give me several places to steer around. Getting your tether up as high as you can, will allow easier navigation around the tree. You will have to play with it when bow hunting to find an acceptable height. I'm also implementing the use of an 18' Jorad telescoping pole to set my tether at 24' before I ever leave the ground to provide being hooked in 100% of the time. The JX3 is truly a dawn to dark stand.

Jonard?

Looks interesting. Collapses to 33" and 2.4 lbs. Smallest packed profile I've seen. Pricey. How easy and quiet does it extend and collapse? Fragile at all? Don't want to break one at that price.
