1219 showed up yesterday. Couldn’t wait to swing in it so went out and hooked it up. Played with bridge length and tether height till it felt good. Messed with the seat pan adjustments and realized I don’t like much cupping pressure. Also found out I like being more of a leaner with legs straight than a full sitter. Mind you I was only a couple feet off the ground in a 12” tree but sitting presses knees or straddling the tree didn’t feel very comfy. Also a ropeman for the tether is a must have The one on lineman belt is the business. Thanks all for the help in understanding a new way to enjoy the tradition of hunting whitetail deer. This going be fun.

How did you go about adjusting the length of the bridge ?

Just loosened the knot and worked some line through then retightened

I'm a little late to the post but I just ordered my Kestrel Size 2 today. The status says "Pre-Order" and shipping could be delayed for 1 to 6 weeks. I'm really hoping it's less than that. I wanted to make sure I had time to use it and get comfortable with it. You guys were all smart to jump on it in the spring. I'm late but at least it's on the way. I didn't even know there was anything like this out there until a couple weeks ago.

Welcome, the Kestrel is a great saddle you will love it. But we are getting new options all the time so do your homework and ask questions to be well informed on here.

Did i read they had to evacuate because of danger of wildfires spreading? May have just dreamed this but ill look.

I was 1854 on 7/9 and still no word here either. I was really hoping to have either my kite or mantis by this weekend as it's my best shot to practice with them for almost a month, but looks like no dice on either. Oh well.

I am order 1861 on July 10 and was told that they should have my order shipped within 2 weeks. I haven't heard anything since. Based on how quick those first orders went out i thought my order would at least have shipped by now. Guess not.

I am alot bigger than that I have a kestrel in size 2. I am 5'10" was 223 pounds waist size 38 and the size 2 fits perfect. I did lose 8 pounds since I last hunted with it last season. I am 215 just tried it on still good. I think you would be ok with a size 1.

I am 6' 170. I layer pretty heavy in frigid temps. Even in summer wear its super comfy

They told me mine would ship by August 3rd. So what's up with the leg buckles? I was just looking at their site and it's a $26 option to get the quick snap buckles??? I swear that wasn't there when I placed the order. Part of the reason I ordered the kestrel over the kite was because of the buckles. I did exchange a couple emails when I first placed my order (July 17) and always got a prompt reply (within a few hours). I emailed them about the question with the leg buckles 3 days ago and haven't heard back. I'm getting frustrated.

Yea it wasnt there when I ordered either but then I read their FAQ and it mentioned that the price had gone down and why. So, I emailed them and they said they could put the order on hold until the buckles were available (LATE SEPT), and pay the $26 difference via credit card over the phone, which I did. Now it shows up as an actual purchase option (FAQ indicated it was going to do so soon at the time I ordered)

Basically the quick release buckles (smaller leg loop ones, not larger waist buckle) are out of stock by the producer and they say they wont be available until late Sept. They say the new standard ones are lighter.
