Dang, dude. Hate that.

I don't mind the off season as much as I used to. Gives me time to get projects knocked out around the house and bank some points with the bridal unit. But I'm always working/tinkering with land and timber projects to improve/maintain habitat etc. Not to mention tinkering with gear. We have about 8 more days of turkey season then I can concentrate on all those projects and hopefully do some fishin'.

I live off grid in the middle of the best white tail hunting in Louisiana I see deer in my yard almost daily it’s the entire reason why I moved and last season was first year here and didn’t hunt at all and I won’t know if I feel like it until Oct 1. If I don’t get tags by the 1st of Oct I don’t get em at all. I’m happy overall but like mad/uncertain at myself for not feeling like hunting literally the 1 thing in my life that I’ve always leaned on. Hoping it’s just a phase lol

I'd get me a fist full of shrooms and go inside and see what that's all about. It's all I can do to NOT think about it. It's like a top 5 of daily thoughts. It goes God, boobs, butts, deer huntin', more boobs.

I do that almost every weekend…allegedly lol I think about it all the time also I literally spend all my days in the middle of the woods. My top 5 is my wife and 4 of my 5 kids I’d have to expand to 6 or 7 thoughts to get the other kid and hunting lmao

Maybe you just need to get back to basics. Cut down a tree, whittle a bow, make some river cane arrows and knap some stone points.

I started with a recurve and there’s no shortage of cutting trees with my axe I still have a good bit to buck. I definitely don’t need to add hobbies to my schedule. I’ve watered it down to just it being so available I wind up not doing it at all lol

Opening Sep 7th in KY. I won't get too excited until about Oct.
The hunting license cost keeps going up. For a senior sportsman license it has gone up again this year. Now it is $12.65 per year. Good thing they include a trout stamp :) .

What’s the nonresident fee in KY and the age for senior sportsman? Here in NY its 70.
 
Time set a camera or two. I dumped my mineral mix a few weeks ago in three places around the farm. Two are old sites, one is new.
Strawberries are popping and so is the asparagus. Sweet corn is peaking through, and the farmer plants beans and our sunflowers today. Things are picking up.
