Let’s see your JX3 Hybrid Pictures!

I agree. They don't seem very robust. I wear a minimalist RC harness underneath with a 2nd tether...but I would do this anyway, even if the buckles were solid. They could be fine. The JX-3 web site says the webbing is rated, but I don't think that necessarily includes the buckles.

Ah the truth comes out, should probably have another RH in there... Not so much worried about the weight, but how all that’s gonna ride on my hips.

Interested in the buckle switch idea as well. Was thinking about raptor buckles but don’t know about my sewing ability?? This hybrid is super customizable. Have been thinking about the short runner bridge..I can carry my pack of bolts on the waist belt and pull up rope off back. Climb. Pull up bow. Hunt. So far not any real complaints.

Look at my pics a few post up. I think you can see the harness in the one of my right side (with the binos and range finder). I don't notice it at all. Before I get blasted I want to be clear: I am 100% ignorant about the strength of these buckles. They don't look very strong to me, but they could be. I use an RC harness as a redundant backup in my JX-3 and my Kestrel. I am NOT claiming it is necessary. I like it; esp when climbing so I'm using a tether and an LB. That's why I do it.

With my guidos web I never even used the leg straps and there was no waist buckle at all, I never once felt like I was going to fall out of it and I purposely put myself in some awkward positions with it to test it out.
If it makes ya feel better and gives you more confidence upgrade it but I am sure John thought through not only the safety aspect but also the legal aspect.

Each time I add to a JX3 thread I’m waiting for someone to reply explaining the plastic buckles to me, put my mind at ease, never happens. Seems the safety features of the kit are great, assuming you do not take a short static fall.

What's your question concerning plastic buckles?

What's your question concerning plastic buckles?

My question is do leg loops serve a safety or convenience purpose? If safety, what kinda load can those buckles be expected to withstand? Am I guaranteed to never slide through that thing if I slip off a stick and have the lineman’s portion of the harness under my armpits. Overall question is am I wearing a fall restraint device or not with the JX3 in either mode. It should be clear, not a gray area. I like the thing, but I have a wife and kid.

A lineman's belt is a fall prevention device. NOT A FALL ARREST DEVICE.

If you're depending on a lineman's belt to stop a fall, you're using it improperly.

I can tell you that each plastic buckle on the leg straps will probably come apart at somewhere around 75-100lbs. It could be more, but that's generally what those size side release buckles come apart at. This is irrelevant to the topic at hand though.

I am happy to expand on this, in a thread where that is the topic. Let's at least attempt to keep this thread as pictures of hybrid setups and modifications.

Sure, let’s take it to a new thread sometime. I think there should be multiple JX3 threads, categorized by topic. I no longer have enough hours in the day to surf and search your it’s a crush thread!

I talked to him and genuinely he put my worries to ease but at the same time its easy insurance. I will have a local guy that does a ton of industrial sewing put them on for me

Sporting my new @DanO fleece pouch here on the final sit of the 2019 archery season. Super light, quiet and great place to quickly toss your phone or other small items. One on the other side holds my tether and LB when walking. No noticeable difference in weight. Love 'em!

I am loving my JX3. My daughter is in a kesrel. That is her first deer she has killed and the first deer killed with me in the JX3. It is almost like having my lazyboy in the tree with me.

I've been getting familiar with mine. It's different than what I usually run for sure, but I've been really liking the ability to climb or use it as a turkey seat. This pic got taken on National Forest land after climbing a BIG ole hill to get to a nice little saddle. I slept in it for about an hour before the sun came up, and then hunted in it for about 4 hours before getting up and scouting for about a mile, and then climbing near some hot oaks.

No deer killed, but I was comfortable!

Finally 1st sit in the hybrid! Life has been crazy so have had no time to hunt but next 9 days are me myself and the woods!

Decided to go into a heavily pressured small public hunting area for my 1st sit, just incase I made some noise as I'm still getting used to this. Not expecting to see anything big but if a doe walks out imma fling a arrow at her.

How you liking no bridge?

My selfie game sucks or I’d have some pics....That and it’s cold so I look like the pilsbury dough bow 20ft high

How you liking no bridge?
It worked out really good for me.
my only complaint was it was a pain in the rear to get my jacket on the temp went from 65 to 44 in like a hour and I was wiggling and tugging trying to get it on and zipped up.
