So after a few hunts with kestrel, i was wondering if guys are using the lineman belt attached to the loop with knot or using a removable lineman belt. I don't really like all that rope hanging down while hunting. This would also give me an easy way to use my tether as second belt if needed.

I've got two carabiners on mine and use a ropeman on my right so I can adjust.
Easy to remove it for a second tether. I use a dump pouch to hold it while hunting.

I'm going to replace my lineman rope with my hunter safety systems lineman belt with carabiner on both ends. It's easily adjustable one handed and rolls up smaller than the rope. I'll take it off and stash it in a bag once attached to the tether.

I use a lone wolf strap, girth hitched to one side all the time, then either roll it up and store it in a small pouch or run it around behind my back to take up the slack. Either way, it is small, light and doesn't get in the way at all even if left attached.

Take care,
Jason

I used to put mine in a bag, but the bag is bigger and bulkier than the rope when it’s daisy chained up.

This is what I do as well.... liked it better than the rope for a linesman's belt

I just got in from trying something I pondered about. For years I have used 1/2" flat hollow braided rope for my tether & linemans belt. I use drill & bolts so I bought molle pouches for each to attach to the Kestrel. The weight really pulls it down even when cinched pretty tight. I have the original linemans belt made by the fellow who made the old Woodpecker drill. It has two pouches for bits & drill. I've replaced the rope on it a few years back and it needed it again. The black, flat hollow braid is hard to find. So I bought a Treehopper belt mainly for the rope. I was thinking I could attach the 2 molle bags to it and use it instead of the Kestrel rope belt. My thinking was that it would fit higher than the Kestrel belt and ride the weight better. I just went & climbed, set up, came down and walked barefoot up the creek to see what my dog was barking at. The weight attached to the linemans belt makes for a better feel, for me. I'll try it out next week for real in the swamp, but I think this is my answer for the drill& bolts. Anyone else try a variation on carrying pouches?

How do you adjust the length of the lone wolf strap when using as a linemans belt?

Got it. I was picturing it without the buckle for some reason...
