There's an off-color joke in there someplace. Maybe someone else can find it...
You might be on to something here. Maybe re-hydrate a portion of jerky in some hot water or broth or tomato soup; by the time it's re-hydrated you'd have something close to chili.

If you dont like chocolate gravy and biscuits, your liker is fubar.
Cocoa powder and sugar mixed well, split the liquid equal parts whole milk and half & half, teaspoon of vanilla, mix up a slurry of cornstarch and water to thicken the gravy, and butter to finish.
I eat clean, haven't added salt to anything since 1990, don't eat anything white and don't particularly care for junk food - BUT, Little Debbie Swiss Cake Rolls are my kryptonite. They conveniently come in a 2pk so you kinda have to eat two. 
I don't carry them hunting but I'll wear a box of them out if my wife buys them. She buys them and hides them and periodically I'll be looking for something else and find a stash, then it's game on. Oddly enough I don't really care for Little Debbie's other offerings. I might eat two Kit Kats a year or a Reeses Peanut Cup but only if we've done a major hike and I feel a bit weak and hungry.

I'm with you on the Spam, but being from the south I was raised on fried bologna sammiches. Or Jumbo to yinz from da 'burgh.
I do, however, like the bacon flavored spam. Bacon makes everything better
Anybody like potted meat? Looks like cat food, smells worse, but man that stuff is good slathered on some saltiness crackers or even a sandwich with mayo.
Another favorite of mine, is Peanut butter and Mayo sandwiches. Alot of people say yuk, but I was raised on them and love them. It's a leftover thing from the depression Era from what I understand.

Yeah I've talked to very few people that will consider trying the PB&Mayo or potted meat.
