View attachment 19956Woke up to 23 deg. this morning. Had a buck chasing a doe circles around me but no shot. Had this little one walk up on me climbing this afternoon.

That's one of the things that makes hunting in Michigan amazing!!! That snow covered backdrop is so surreal. We got some catching up to do in SE Michigan but we are expecting 1-3 inches of snow tonight. I'll be up on the 14th for the gun opener so please save one for me.

We got about 9" today. It won't last but it sure soaked all my gear. . . Again. Tough drying stuff out in the camper.

Got skirted by a mature 7 point around 2 PM. Then about 20 minutes later saw him chase a doe over the ridge. I have one of his antlers from 2017 and never saw him in 2018. Glad to see he's still around. Going to get down and hunt from the ground the rest of the evening.

Went out this morning. Felt a little like a late season hunt. 18 F with 20 mph winds.


Tried the adhesive hand warmers on the back over the kidneys for the first time... couldn't believe the difference. Glad I ordered the bulk pack!
