I'm trying my hand at big woods mountain hunting up in the northwest corner of sc.

Did a fair amount of scouting yesterday and didn't see a single deer track, rub, or scrape. Decided to sit this morning anyway because I'm stubborn.

Nope, I came in from a field behind me, she was already there. Where I’m hunting there seems to be lots of business activity this am so maybe something spooked her. Or she’s just pissy. Here’s the field behind me.

I had a doe blowing the other night on my entry with my wind blowing away from her. I'm pretty sure it was because a woodpecker sounded off, not because of me. The more I hunt the more I realize them blowing isn't nearly as big of a deal for how the rest of your hunt will go cause I think they do it far more often then they should.

Lol sounds right. Turns out it was a wandering dog, blew all the deer outta the area.

I haven't been in the woods yet without it. It was in the 30's this past weekend overnight, but almost 70 by 9:30 and out came the bugs.
