Fortunate to be hunting a small private slice of heaven the next week or so. One rule….if I shoot it, I have to mount it, no does.

First sit last night waiting for a buck with “two foot wide” antlers. He was standing in the guys backyard yesterday morning with ten does. Had bolt holes already prepped. Used my new battlebelt with sit-drag mod. Wasn’t bad for three hours.….I want to try a Drey with the belt. Saw two does, three bucks. One was 3.5 yo 7 pt. I’m going to give my platform another go, but I think the ROS suits me better. I like the foot room but not the limited mobility of getting around the tree.

Hard place to hunt between cutting marginal winds and trying to avoid being in the middle of a ten doe group. Fun though.

Worked to many hours this week and decided to follow exhumis' lead. At the local WMA, found a corridor from grub to bedding.... Decided to see if I be "cb" to a buck look for late afternoon "hook up"...

Hope the rut ramps up here soon. Saw nothing this morning and a 4 pt and a doe already this afternoon. We are suppose to be getting a weeks worth of rain so I hope the bigger boys move this evening! 48FDAF35-75CE-474F-92D7-2FB8B16D4A81.jpeg

Alabama were so screwed up we barely even have a rut and when we do it can vary all over the place. Where I’m hunting now should be rutting this week or next. Then other pockets will rut end of December, Early January, late January and early February. Southern parts of the state won’t even rut in season lol

Haha hey I appreciate it! I’m super confused but that sounds like a good thing and bad thing. Be good to be able to follow the rut so long but feel like it’s hard to track maybe? Might have to come down and shoot some pigs and maybe a rutting deer
