I told myself if it’s brown it’s down on wheeler but I have since passed on a button buck and about 8 does the last 3 hunts. Ain’t wanting to haul them 2 miles out haha.

I’m extra careful on shooting those does. I don’t wanna get spend it again especially before the rut.

0945. Doing some post sit scouting in another area and found some fresh rubs and scrapes. Followed another 20 yards and bumped what sounded like a decent buck. No snorting just bounding through the swamp.

Do you guys usually go back in to hunt them in the evening? That’s my plan.

Was seeing chasing yesterday. My buddy saw a spike harrassing some does this morning. It’s getting close in some areas.

Took the new to me bike in this morning. Cut my commute from 40 to 10 mins!

had two does follow me in and start blowing while I was climbing. My buddy’s ole man might of shot a doe. Looks like they’re moving despite the hot weather. Wish I had brought my thermacell.

i packed out my first buck on a bmx as a game hauler.wiskey rack on the back to keep it off the tire/ put the chest cavity over the seat and strapped the head to the handle bars.then use the hand breaks all the way down the mountain.i push the bike 2 miles up hill with all my gear on it.dont need gears just hand breaks and pettal break for coasting down the mountain.fits in the backseat of my car.but them is nice

Got an afternoon sit up in the saddle today. Just like yesterday, nothing!! I was in a ladder stand yesterday on a different part of this property. Wind was perfect for both spots and still no sightings. After 4-5 days with the late season closed and the new later late season through the 1st of the year beginning yesterday I figured the pressure would be off enough for them to be back on some semblance of a pattern. I’m getting trail cam pics of a decently wide 8 pointer but everything is still like 7pm is as early as they’re showing up. The sign is fresh. This spot tonight was at a creek crossing and a trail intersection. Beaten down trails… don’t get it!!
 
Live after a late start, got to parking in dark, weather said rain done in a hour and a half or so. Took a quick car nap, half hour later weather said drizzle for 3 hrs so I headed into the woods just before first light, barely walked past the safety zones and set up in a hollow. Feeling pretty good about the spot, saw two does on the way in and 4 turkeys just walked by at 75 yards or so... I set up on a heavily used trail at the bottom of a hollow right next to rhododendron/thick cover and a woods/grassy/water transition, and the tree I'm in had fresh (as in from overnight or this AM) crap right under it when I got to it so... Fingers crossed. Oh there's a mylar balloon on the ground about 15 yards away as well if any of you believe in that hunting beast thermal stuff too... I HAVE to get a chance here...
