Ok I ordered a LW ASSAULT replacement seat frame to build a platform. I don’t have it my hands yet tho so my question is this. Can anyone measure the width of where it bolts to the Aluminum square tubing for me? I have it circled in the pic. I’d like to get started on building the frame for my platform so if someone could measure this that’d be great!!!

Ok so I’ll need to put 1/8” spacers on each side. Probably just use plastic washers which is fine. That should work mint!!! My plan is to use a lone wolf climbing stick as my post and they measure 1”. Thanks man!!! Appreciate it!!!

As long as the seat is wider than my post I’ll be good. Thanks again buddy!

No problem brother! Definitely use plastic or nylon washers. It keeps her quiet! And make sure to reinforce your post where the seat leveling bolt will contact it.

Yessir. I’m hoping my plan works. I’m not sure if it’s been attempted before. I just thought of it lol. I figure if it isn’t quite solid enough, I can always cam it with another strap.

There will be a lot of slop to take up with a 1 inch stick, my seat measured 1 5/8" and I used 1 1/4" tube

Ok yeah that is a lot of slop. I can always weld or screw plate to it to widen it I guess. Thanks for the heads up!!!

Are using it at the top of your top stick? Or are you using a stick specifically for the seat.

My plan is to use the seat at the top of my stick(in place of the top step) as a platform for my saddle. Or I could just cut a stick down and build it just for the platform. I’m not sure. I won’t really know until I get the seat and start tinkering. It’s hard for me to imagine things in detail without having them in my hands. Once I have everything at hand, then it’s on lol!!

Yes that would work and should be plenty strong. I chose to weld a plate to the front of mine to reinforce it for the leveling bolt as mentioned above.

Gotcha. Thanks again everyone for all the input!!! I literally just bought a predator platform on here lol!!! I’m still gonna mess around with my idea tho. Jasper2 did you put the platform at the top of a stick like I mentioned I was going to do?

I was thinking of doing the same thing. That way you aren't looking for more stand offs then. Have you considered getting a 1 inch or 1.5 inch tube and a 3/4 square tube. Securing the 3/4 tube inside and protruding out the bottom of the larger tube. Then popping the cap on the top of the stick and sliding it in? You would likely have cut a slot in the front and back to go past the bolt for the step and stand off. Just a thought. I've wanted to try but don't have the pieces or the tools.

No I have t thought that far yet lol! I have access to unlimited material so that won’t be a problem. I was just trying to think ahead a little bit while I wait for my seat to arrive. I figure even if I buy a new LW stick I’ll still be to the good. I paid $65 for the seat and standoffs are $10 each and I need two plus like $10 shipping. So there’s just under $100 and I’ll have to fab up a post. I can buy a new stick for $50 and have everything I need. So $15 difference. My time is precious lol. Plus if I buy a stick and don’t end up using it for a platform, I can always use it for its original purpose. But like I said, I literally just bought a predator platform so.... who knows now!!!

Your idea does sound good though. The only thing I can think of is it would take a good bit of tinkering to get it to fit and then you have to worry about how tight the pieces fit together. Anything loose will make noise.

Yeah the initial for sure would take some work. Not sure if there's a nylon sleeve that could be used to quiet it.. Might be more work than its worth.
