Lone Wolf Custom Gear Kuhnert Ambush Bent bolt/Fix

I received an email from Lone Wolf stating they would be sending a new bolt in the mail. However, in the meantime I went ahead did the following which require no drilling. I purchased one 1/4” nut, one 1/4” lock nut, one 1/4” x 1 1/2 grade 8 bolt, 1/4” x 1 fender washer, and one 1/4” x 1/2” inch stainless spacer. It works flawlessly just needs some paint.

Yeah I'd say this was handled well. Guys who were in a hurry get in an extra hunt or 2. Everyone gets the gen 2 within a week. I mean I'm still amazed it happened at all, but it's handled fine.

For sure. I'd say it should have been caught before it launched. But while I've seen bending, I haven't seen out and out failure. I'll be playing on mine tonight to see what I think of the current bolt. Then I'll decide if the replacement is getting installed this weekend.

Ok so I was wondering how that bolt was being received bent, mine was not but did wear a hole through the box...... so when I was initially on the fence a wondered about the size difference b/w my LWHC & the Ambush........ not quite as different but much more usable space on the latter...

Here's mine. This is what they meant by "slight hole discrepancy". It's off center causing the bolt to lean a little. It's not bent. The hole was drilled at a slight angle off center. I'll see what they send before I make a stink about it. Everything else is good to go.

IMO this would mean the versa button needs support form a "shoulder" on the exterior for strength.

That’s what mine looks like..Also the leveling bolt on the bottom is off center.

Overall, the versa button location is pretty centered, but the platform leveling bolt isn’t even close.

Pretty crazy that there isn’t more attention to detail when you’re laying $300 for a platform.

But, I’m not mad at it. It’s exactly what I wanted, but I can tell you it’ll take some adjusting when learning to cam the platform. The teeth are definitely longer and require more slack when caming over.

I can’t wait to go on my first hunt out of it.

I really think LWCG was in a rush and has really just sent out a bunch of pooooo... bolts bending, off center holes, crappy cuts, etc.... I’m glad I cancelled my order and got my money back. Buy from DanO, Tethrd, Aerohunter and Beast.

Well as of now none of them want to be bothered with an assassin sized platform.... Here is the only option for guys who are not happy with tiny platforms. Mine set up fine, It will get a lot of use the next few days.
I absolutely support the other companies mentioned above too.

I've been screaming Preadator XL from day one. Although there are a few things they could do differently as well.

1) non cast tree bracket
2) non cast versa button
3) exchange a platform BEFORE it breaks..

The one thing i'll say about LWCG is they reacted like it was a problem, and have fixed it like it was a problem.

Tethrd acts like it isn't a problem, but then fixes it AFTER it is a problem.

My leveling bolt is more centered than that. But looks like my button bolt is more off centered than yours. Curious to see what others look like. All the photos are from the side.

So my versabutton is pretty off center. Everything else is GTG. definitely subpar implementation, but...

I kinda like it more than I thought I would. Once I put the shoulder straps on it and put it on my back, I immediately wished I had kept the sticks. If they'll carry vertically, I can see getting a lot of use out of this.
