Lone Wolf Custom Gear review - The fix and the company

I just wanted to leave a review on this company for people that are thinking of going with them for gear.

I purchased the FIX platform from them almost 30 days ago. When I purchased it, it never said anything about lead time for delivery or shipment or anything. It has now been almost a month and not only have I not received the item, but it has not even been sent yet. I now see that on their website it states "3-5 Weeks delivery time". Again this was not there over a month ago.

I have been trying to contact the company multiple times for a week now, and they have yet to respond. I tried to contact by phone call, text message (it states you can text), and also by e-mail. I personally find it quite ridiculous that they wont even get back to a customer to at least say "Sorry it has been an extremely busy hunting season, we have plans to send yours out in the next week". Instead they are just ghosting the calls, e-mail and text message and not getting back to the customer.

I will be calling my credit card company and having them cancel my order as at this point I have no idea if my order has been lost or if they even know about it, and they will not get back to me with any info on it either.

I see a lot of good things on this website for this company, but I also see on their website it says this " Any warranty claims, quality issues, and customer service inquiries regarding products purchased from Lone Wolf Hunting Products (Oak Leaf Outdoors) before 2022 should be directed to Oak Leaf Outdoors. Contact Information below. "

It looks like something happened in 2022 where owners were changed or something and things are different now. This is just my personal experience with this company. I wanted to go with the FIX as it seemed like a great investment for hunting season, but I was quite burned by it, and I definitely wish I went with something else. I guess this is mainly just a 'Buyer Beware' message.

I hate to hear that. I bought one and got in the mail the same week. Best platform I’ve ever tried or owned. Buy one used on here, you won’t regret it.

That's not good. Can't say I've experienced anything like that from them, over numerous orders. They even got back to me same day on Dec 23rd or 24th a couple years ago.

That whole thing about Oak Leaf Outdoors has nothing to do with Lone Wolf Custom Gear orders. It's in reference to Lone Wolf (not custom gear).

Had a buddy that ordered one around the same time as you and experienced similar service for a good 2-3 weeks. He received a phone call the Monday evening before the Saturday opener and they apologized up and down and offered the give him the ambush for the same price as the fix. They next day aired it and he had it in his hands that Wednesday. Hopefully they rectify the situation for you. I have a fix and have tested many other platforms and don’t plan on getting rid of mine anytime soon.

I’ve had similar issues with them. I had them on the phone and said “It says right on the website, 3-5 days.” To which they replied,
“No it doesn’t.”
“Yes it does. I’m looking at the website right now.” They went in and changed the website while I was on the phone with them and I was like…“Did you seriously just change the website while on the phone with me? Because now it’s magically gone”
“No of course we didn’t do that. It never said 3-5 days.”

So I sent them the screenshot of it saying “3-5 days”. I have not since and never will order from them again.

I read more positive than negative feedback regarding LWCG but I get your point.
Bottom line is they may not be a perfect company but a lot of their gear is close as I've found to it.

If you can't physically carry it out of a store you never know what you're going to run into with lead times. It is what it is. Good customer service and good gear-making are not mutually exclusive.

Well. I bought Ambush platform last week and it was out of the door next day. Now waiting for DHL to haul it over the pond.

Shame if they go to **** because there’s a lot I’d like to buy from them at some point. They have added sold out labels to lot of products now so it might be they learned a lesson.

I had a similar situation with Trophyline last week but they communicated with me and bent over backwards. UPS more so dropped the ball than TL. I bought all my gear mid day on opening day 9/23/23 but the local shop was sold out of saddles. Owner of shop said take his saddle. I returned his saddle so he could hunt and went in to order a TL saddle that Monday.

My shopping cart said free delivery 3-5 days. It did NOT say they would take 3-5 days to ship and then ship it 3-5 days ground. However I called before hitting the BUY button and talked to a new guy there apparently. He assured me everything I ordered was in stock but they were an hour ahead of me in the time zone. I called at 12:40 my time and it was 1:40 their time. He said it might not go out that Monday but definitely Tuesday morning and PA to TN I'd probably have it Thursday no later than Friday. I was leaving for a hunt noonish on Friday and had my fingers crossed.

Tuesday night a label hadn't even been created so I hit the Contact Us button and it sent them a text. They actually called me like 8PM Tuesday night. Talked to a guy that was a bit more seasoned and he called the guy I originally talked to and he admitted what he told me. He said I should have never been told that but since I was they would honor it and overnight it Wednesday to get to me Thursday. I told him I had no problem chipping in on the overnight cost but they said no need.

A nice lady in customer service called me Wednesday morning and the guy I talked to the night before and confirmed they overnighted it that morning and sent me a tracking# and on UPS website it said overnight and delivered by 10AM Thursday. Thursday morning on UPS website it magically changed from overnight to delivery 11:58AM Friday.

The lady in CS called me back to confirm I got it that Thursday and I told her what UPS did. She said she felt horrible and that I'd been understanding and reasonable and if I wanted a refund she'd give it to me. I told her no I wanted the saddle anyway. I had to leave and the saddle came about 5:30PM on Friday. I had a 12 hr drive so I was already gone and carried my climber. My buddy that was going with me had something come up and couldn't leave until Friday night, he dropped by and got the saddle from my wife and drove it to me.

Trophyline gave me a 20% refund and I didn't even ask for one.

And here I though under promise and over deliver had caught the covid and died.

What I liked is they didn't give me the "Well too bad" line or act like I was lying to get it quicker. Both people just communicated with me and worked on the best solution. That's really all you can ask, everybody makes mistakes, it's how you handle it afterwards that makes a difference and I thought they handled it well.

If I'd know she was gonna refund me $80 I would've told her to send me a back strap and knee pads I forgot to order and keep the money. LOL!

This is tame next to the clown show for the many folks who pre-ordered the new LWCG climber. Guys sent them $1k this spring and heard promises all summer into the fall about delivery dates. Now it is mid-October 2023 as of this thread contribution and guys still do not have their new LWCG climbers. A bunch of cancelled their orders and received refunds, but how long can a brand play the game of marketing an idea without having the details and production worked out for prompt delivery?

Well that's interesting. Desktop and firefox shows 485 no matter what I do, phone and safari shows old prices as usual.
