Made up a new top step for my lone wolf sticks today. Hopefully I can leave the platform behind now.

I was going to press in stainless pins for grip but I don’t have the right drill bit. Going to try it this weekend and see what needs to change.

Dude, I like where you're going with this. Why did you stop at 3x4? Online metals goes all the way to 6x6. Just curious. More footroom seems cool.
I measured my muddy pro sticks and not sure you could go any bigger than what he has without an offset bracket.

This is just my first prototype to test the idea. I don’t think I will have and problems but I wanted to test to make sure the stick would hold when most of the weight was on the outer edges. I currently use rope but I might need to go to the original strap to prevent the bottom from kicking out. I hope to use thumb screws on the final version so I can disassembled for long hikes.

if you took another identical one and turned it around and bolted both to give it some depth . reckon it would work? your definatley onto something

Sweet idea and execution. How much does it weigh? Thinking of selling any of these?

I can get the weight compared to a regular stick. I did go way oversize with 3/8 thick. As for selling them, I don’t know if I could make them cost effective for sale and my time but I can look into it.

How does that thing handle side pressure?

It hasn’t had a problem with side pressure. If the rope is tight and hop on it a little to lock it onto the tree it won’t move. I just shot a nice 10 point from it and had to wrap all the way around the tree because it took three burps to get him to stop.
